Dawn Shares That One Song from 'DAWNDIDIDAWN' Has Something to Do With HyunA
Dawn revealed that one track from his latest album is based on what usually happens when he is having an argument with HyunA. The K-pop male artist was featured on the October 25 segment of SBS Power FM's 'Cultwo Show.' He talked about 'DAWNDIDIDAWN,' which is his first solo album after signing a contract with PSY's company, P Nation, in January 2019.
Dawn stated that one of the singles on his comeback album, specifically the track entitled "Still, was established on a common scenario that takes place whenever he and HyunA argue about something. When they quarrel, the rapper said he doesn't get mad, which leads to the female idol getting mad even more.
He also said that when they are fighting, he was getting scolded by HyunA a lot instead of arguing with each other. He added, "She is the type of person to talk a lot, while I'm the type of person to listen. I'm not good at multitasking, so that's why I'm getting scolded."
Dawn stated that his mother also possesses a macho personality, while his father is just like him. Also, her mom scolds her dad the way the HyunA scolds him. "It's a father-son trait," he said.
During the interview, the male singer also shared that he initially had a different song he wanted to release instead of his album's title track, "DAWNDIDIDAWN. According to him, PSY showed him his new single before the music video shoot, but he refused to do it at first. But then, he didn't have enough time to prepare, and he wasn't confident to accomplish the original track he was supposed to release. And so, "DAWNDIDIDAWN" was launched thanks to the persuasion of PSY.
Moreover, Dawn touched on that his mother, who's a belly dancer, encouraged him to learn how to dance. He stated that he also tried belly dancing and learned dancing because her mom said she likes people who can dance. He also unveiled that HyunA already met her mom and that they get along so well.
Dawn's latest album, "DAWNDIDIDAWN, which includes the title track of the same name, was out on October 9. The artist took part in writing the song's lyrics, together with PSY, Jessi, and D.Ark. PSY, Yoon Gun Hyung, and PENOMECO were the ones who composed it. This album marks Dawn's first comeback after almost a year since releasing the single entitled "Money on November 25, 2019. This is his first return as a solo artist after re-debuting under the name 'Dawn' under P Nation.
As of October 26, KST, the music video for "DAWNDIDIDAWN already reached 9 million views. Jessi, an artist under P Nation, is a featuring artist on the said track.
Dawn was initially a member of the K-pop boy group PENTAGON under Cube Entertainment, under the name E'Dawn. The group debuted on October 10, 2016, with their first extended play, "Pentagon, in which Dawn, who is also a songwriter, took part in writing the lyrics of two tracks on the album. He left PENTAGON and the agency on November 14, 2018, after revealing his relationship with HyunA, who is now under P Nation.
