MAMAMOO Wheein Unable to Attend Radio Show Due to Muscle Pain

MAMAMOO Wheein was recently taken to the hospital.

On Nov. 12, MAMAMOO members Solar, Moonbyul, and Hwasa appeared as guests on an MBC FM4U radio show called 'Kim Shin Young's Noon Song of Hope.' Wheein was supposed to be present as well, however, she was not able to attend due to health reasons.

The host of the show, DJ Kim Shin Young, shared with the listeners and viewers, "Wheein was unable to join us today because of neck pain." MAMAMOO's Solar added, "She hurt her neck during dance practice. It can be avoided. These difficult choreographies can get to you."

According to reports, MAMAMOO Wheein was taken to the hospital in the morning, prior to the group's scheduled appearance on the radio show. It is stated that she felt muscle pain in her neck, which is possibly a herniated spinal disc.

Also, on Nov. 12, MAMAMOO's management agency RBW released an official statement regarding Wheein's current condition. The label shared that the singer recently complained that she was experiencing muscle pain in her neck and back on Nov. 11. Hence, she was taken to the hospital and is currently being examined. As a result, MAMAMOO Wheein was absent from the radio program at MBC FM4U.

The company further stated, "Her future schedule will depend on the results of the test and her recovery status, and we will give an update once we figure everything out. We ask for your understanding. Thank you."

MAMAMOO has just released its tenth extended play titled "Travel" on Nov. 3. And, the South Korean girl group is in the midst of promoting their new album.

"Travel" is composed of six singles, namely "Travel," "Chuck," "Diamond," "Good Night," "Dingga" (the pre-release track), and "AYA," which serves as the EP's title track. MAMAMOO's Moonbyul took part in the lyric writing process of all the songs as well as in the composition of "AYA." Hwasa also participated in composing "Dingga."

The title track is about comparing a love that has changed to a cavity that must be cleared away. The music video for "AYA" was also revealed on the same day the album was launched. And, as of Nov. 12 KST, the MV is near to reaching 19.5 million views.

Meanwhile, the title of the pre-release track, "Dingga," derives from the Korean expression "dingga dingga" that defines the act of lazily enjoying one's leisure time. The music video for this single was out on October 20 this year, and it is about to reach 23 million views as of Nov. 12 KST.

Besides group activities, MAMAMOO Wheein also accepted collaboration projects this year. She was the featured artist on DinDin's "do do do do" last May, as well as on Peakboy's "Diet," which was launched last August.

Wheein has also recently lent her voice for the original soundtracks of two television series. She sang "With My Tears" for the drama "Hospital Playlist" and "Shine On You" for the program "Record of Youth."
