On Sunday, Nov. 15, KBS News 9 Channel reported on BTS member V's "Dream Challenge" is now being well-loved by South Korean kindergarten students. Read more about the situation here.

In a previous interview, BTS was asked if they could challenge all the youths dealing with the coronavirus pandemic. BTS suggested V come up with the challenge, as he is someone with many creative ideas. 

V mentioned that people want to do things, but they can't due to the restrictions of a pandemic. He asked people to imagine that the pandemic is over and what it is they want to do. Once they have decided what they want to do, V asks viewers to write it down, draw it, or find a way to express what they want to do.

As he spoke, the rest of the members helped make a name for it. They all unanimously decided to go with "Dream Challenge." 

Since then, the challenge has been adapted to South Korean kindergarten kids. Teachers ask their students to draw what they want to do once the coronavirus pandemic is over. Each student showed off a variety of answers. 

One student said they wanted to go on a trip with their grandfather. Unfortunately, this plan was canceled due to the pandemic. Another said they wanted to eat jjajangmyeon in restaurants. Many students said they wanted to be able to play with their friends without masks. 

The "Dream Challenge" has helped give hope to children, as it allows them to have something to look forward to despite the current restrictions put in place due to the pandemic. With something to look forward to after the pandemic, the kids can stay hopeful and positive. V's challenge was able to provide comfort to many during these difficult times. 

V is known for his creativity both with BTS and with the ARMY. Notably, V coined the iconic phrase "I purple you" during a BTS fan meeting back in Nov. 2016. The term is now used to express ARMY and BTS's love for each other. The term was also used for UNICEF's anti-bullying campaign with BTS.

V is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and actor. In 2013, he debuted as a member of the Big Hit Entertainment boy group BTS. In 2016, he debuted as an actor with a supporting role in the drama "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth."

V ranked first on the chart, meaning he is the number one K-pop idol to be searched for in the past five years in South Korea. In an annual survey conducted by Gallup Korea in 2019, V was selected as the fourth most well-loved idol in South Korea.
