Girls' Generation Yoona Launches Personal YouTube Channel

Girls' Generation's Yoona has joined the world of YouTube!

Earlier this month, SM Entertainment announced that the idol will be launching her official Instagram account--this will be her second one overall. Yoona made her first one back in September 2015, and it is her personal account. The latest Instagram she opened will be managed not only by the singer but also by SM Entertainment. They will be updating fans about all of her solo activities.

On Nov. 13, Girls' Generation's Yoona uploaded her first nine solo pictures. As of Nov. 27, the artist's new Instagram account has reached 315,000 followers.

On Nov. 26, the female idol announced that she will be launching her own YouTube channel through an Instagram story. The following day, Yoona posted a photo on her most recent Instagram account, revealing that she has official opened her YouTube channel called "Yoona's So Wonderful Day." It has already managed to get more than 10,000 subscribers.

Girls' Generation's Yoona is currently active as a solo artist under SM Entertainment. Last March of this year, she collaborated with fashion magazine L'Officiel for its 2020 spring/summer edition. Then, in July, she guested on tvN's "On and Off," where she revealed her daily life.

Other than that, the female idol was confirmed to take on a female lead role in the new JTBC drama titled "Hush." Based on the novel "Silence Warning," the show is about the everyday difficulties and ethical problems of newspaper reporters. The drama is set to begin airing on Dec. 11 at 11:00 p.m. KST.

ABOUT YOONA

Im Yoon-ah, commonly known as Yoona, is a singer and actress in South Korea. In 2002, she joined SM Entertainment and trained for five years. She officially debuted in August 2007 as a Girls' Generation, along with eight more trainees, namely Taeyeon, Tiffany, Sooyoung, Hyoyeon, Jessica, Sunny, and Seohyun, and Yuri. The girl group released its debut album "Girls' Generation," featuring the single "Into the New World."

Aside from her music career, Yoona has also established herself as an actress. She started acting in 2007 when she was cast in MBC's "Two Outs in the Ninth Inning." The following year, she made her cameo appearance in MBC's "Woman of Matchless Beauty," in which she was praised for her great performance.

In May 2008, the artist received her very first leading role. She was cast in KBS's "You Are My Destiny," playing Jang Sae Byuk. Through his drama, she was able to earn two "Best New Actress" awards at the 45th Baeksang Arts Awards and 2008 KBS Drama Awards. 

Girls' Generation's Yoona continued to be cast in numerous South Korean dramas of different genres in the succeeding years. Not to mention, she made her big-screen debut in January 2017 with the action movie "Confidential Assignment."

In May 2019, the female idol made her solo debut with the extended play "A Walk to Remember," to celebrate her 29th birthday. It became the fastest-selling album by a female soloist in its first 24 hours.
