[BREAKING] UP10TION Kogyeol Also Confirmed Positive for COVID-19

Another UP10TION member has been diagnosed with COVID-19.On Nov. 30, TOP Media announced that UP10TION's Bitto tested positive for COVID-19 after coming into close contact with a confirmed case. And on Dec. 1, the company unveiled that another UP10TION member got a positive result for coronavirus.

The boy group's management agency released an official statement revealing that upon learning Bitto's COVID-19 result, the other UP10TION members, artists, staff, and employees who have come into contact with the idol have undergone testing for coronavirus. In addition, they will all have a self-quarantine for two weeks.

TOP Media then revealed that the hair and makeup team and other employees had all received negative results for COVID-19. The artists and some UP10TION members also tested negative. However, there are still two staff members whose results have not been released yet. Hence, the label will follow up on the matter as soon as it has been confirmed.

While the staff and most of the artists of TOP Media have tested negative for coronavirus, one UP10TION member has received a positive result, and it is Kogyeol. Because of this, the agency said that the singer will be taking quarantine measures according to instructions by health authorities. TOP Media will also be re-investigating the members' movements and whether there is any staff at risk of further infection. The company further stated that it will be following the government's guidelines in terms of COVID-19.

UP10TION was previously performed on two music shows, specifically in "Music Core" on Nov. 28 and "Inkigayo" on Nov. 29. "Inkigayo" stated that after hearing the news about UP10TION Bitto's diagnosis, they immediately informed all the staff and the performers who were present during that day. The program also said that they have secured CCTV footages and are currently checking them to find out who crossed paths and came into close contact with UP10TION's Bitto. "Music Core" also shared that they are in the process of checking the situation. 

The K-Pop groups who also performed on "Music Core" apart from UP10TION were woo!ah!, Aespa, BAE173, TREASURE, Stray Kids, NORAZO, NCT U, AKMU, and CNBLUE. Solo artists Natty, Ahn Da Eun, Hui featuring MJ, and Henry were also there.

Meanwhile, the performers on "Inkigayo" besides UP10TION include Bling Bling, STAYC, Aespa, Cooing, woo!ah!, DRIPPIN, LUCY, Stray Kids, BTOB 4U, Norazo, TREASURE, NCT U, CNBLUE, AKMU, and BAE173. Soloists Natty and WOODZ (Cho Seung Youn) were also present that day.

It was announced that all of these artists were tested for COVID-19 and some have canceled or postponed their activities to ensure the safety of everyone around them. Additionally, TOP Media has canceled the plans for UP10TION concerning the promotion of a b-side track from their latest album as well as the upcoming fan signing events.

UP10TION was scheduled to participate in the recording of a new episode for ArirangTV's "Simply K-pop" on Nov. 30, alongside Norazo, STAYC, woo!ah!, and Natty. However, all artists were unable to attend due to the recent situation.

Furthermore, SBS MTV's "The Show" was supposed to air a new episode today, Dec. 1, however, the segment was canceled since many of the K-Pop groups that are included in the lineup had appeared in the same music show as UP10TION.
