STAYC Dances to BLACKPINK, Red Velvet, Sunmi, and Chungha's Songs

STAYC members have shown off their skills and charms in short dance cover of Blackpink, Red Velvet, Sunmi, and Chungha songs.

On Dec. 2, a video of the rookie group's "Dance Ceremony" was uploaded on the official YouTube channel of Genie Media Studio. In the video, STAYC members danced to a particular track of other female K-Pop artists. When Blackpink's "How You Like That" first turned on, STAYC's Yoon goes in front while saying "I know this song." She first introduced herself by stating, "Hello! I'm Yoon from STAYC, I'm the doll of the team." She then showcased her dancing skills while the members cheered for her.

Sunmi's 2018 song "Siren" was played next, and STAYC's J was the one who stepped forward and said, "Hello! I'm J from STAYC and I'm the member who's full of unexpected charms." After that is Red Velvet's 2019 hit song "Psycho," which was covered by STAYC's leader, Sumin, then Chungha's 2019 track "Snapping," which Sieun danced to after she stated, "I'm the coy, main vocal of the team, Sieun."

It was followed by BLACKPINK's 2019 hit "As If It's Your Last," which was covered by Isa. The other STAYC members can also be seen dancing to the song. The last one to be played is Red Velvet's 2017 single "Peek-A-Boo," in which STAYC's Seeun displayed her outstanding dancing skills as she flaunted her visual.

At the end of the video, a preview of "Freezetag Dance" was shown, giving a sneak peek of what fans can expect in another video that will be uploaded on Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. KST.

STAYC is the first-ever girl group to debut under High-Up Entertainment, which was initially a joint company between CJ E&M and the producer duo Black Eyed Pilseung in August 2017 but became independent in 2018 with the duo running the agency. The female act is made up of six members, namely Sumin, Isa, Sieun, Yoon, Seeun, and J.

The rookie group made its debut on Nov. 12 of this year with the release of the extended play titled "Star To A Young Culture," which is what their group name actually stands for. It means that the girls aim to dominate pop culture. Ahead of the debut, Sieun and Seeun are already familiar to most people.

Sieun is the daughter of veteran singer Park Namjung, and is also known for her roles in numerous dramas like "Queen for Seven Days," "The Good Wife," and "The Crowned Clown." Seeun also started as an actress, making appearances on programs like "Circle" and "The Guardians.

STAYC's debut was highly anticipated, given that Black Eyed Pilseung, who is a duo known for producing many K-Pop hit songs, will also be creating their track. "So Bad," which is the title track of their debut EP, peaked at No. 17 on the weekly Gaon Album Chart, No. 21 on the World Digital Song Sales chart, and No. 90 on Billboard's K-Pop Hot 100.

In addition, STAYC became the first rookie group this year to surpass 10,000 debut album sales on Hanteo Chart just one week following the launch of the EP "Star To A Young Culture."
