Major K-Pop Artists Gather For Christmas-Themed '2020 KBS Gayo Daechukje' Stage
All the artists who performed at the "2020 KBS Gayo Daechukje" collaborated to create a Christmas filled stage for the festival. Keep on reading for all the details.
At the start of the performance, we are greeted with a man playing the piano and South Korean elementary-aged kids singing "Joy to the World" in a choir. Soon, the video shows people from all around the world singing and playing various instruments to highlight the Christmas mood.
We are then greeted by South Korean singer Yoon Jong Shin singing his song, "Highway Romance", in a studio. The song is given a festive flair with the addition of sleigh bells in the background. He then asks the MCs to sing, and soon the video shifts to TVXQ's Yunho, Shin Yee Eun, and ASTRO's Cha Eunwoo singing to the song. As they sing, they look at each other and smile.
The video then shifts over to TWICE on stage, who are also singing the song. They are dressed in gorgeous gold and silver outfits and are jamming out while singing, jumping, and moving side to side as they sing. When the lyrics mentioning running, the girls adorably start running in place.
After TWICE, MOMOLAND is seen outside their fitting rooms. The girls are dressed in all white, just like snow. They are seen slightly swaying as they sing and, like TWICE, also interpret the song with their bodies. When the song mentions love, the girls make hearts with their hands and/or fingers.
Next up is the newly debut rookie male group, ENHYPEN! Dress in white suits with black accent ties, the boys hype up the song with their exciting movements. Though the song itself is mellow and melancholic, ENHYPEN makes it a song to bounce to with their fun and uplifting energy.
They are quickly followed by another rookie group, Aespa! The girls are seen in their stage outfits and are standing behind a gray wall. As they sing the song, they sway their bodies and show off their excitement. By the end of their segment, they are seen extending their arms out to the camera, as if embracing the viewer in a warm hug.
Next up is another SM Entertainment group, NCT. However, it appears that not all 23 members are present in this clip. Regardless, the members that are present fully embrace the energy of the song. Dressed in schoolboy-esque outfits, NCT is seen bouncing to the song and using their arms to fully capture the message of the song.
THE BOYZ is seen next, dressed up in black and grey knight-like clothing. Though they are wearing tough clothing, THE BOYZ show their soft side as they bounce to the song and cutely show off their expressions with their hands and face.
Big Hit Entertainment boy group TXT is soon seen in army-styled clack and gold clothing. Standing outside of a fitting room, TXT shows off their teamwork by pulling off the same hand movement once the video shifts to them. Looks like the boys were prepared for their moment!
IZ*ONE is then seen inside their dressing, with the members wearing adorable black and white outfits. They show off their elegant charms by swaying as they sing. Some members are also seen hugging each other, proving that the members are truly close to one another.
They are quickly followed by ITZY, who are decked out in all white. They are seen outside a fitting room and are seen with huge smiles on their faces as they bounce and sing along to the song. Looks like they are totally excited for Christmas!
ASTRO is seen, marking Cha Eunwoo's second appearance in the video. While all the other members are seen wearing matching white and black blazers, Cha Eunwoo is still seen in his MC outfit! The boys are all smiles as they invite the viewers to join them in singing "HIGHWAY ROMANCE".
As the instrumental plays on, clips of the groups having fun, dancing, and goofing off are seen! MONSTA X's starts off by showing their funny side, followed by TXT, ITZY, NU'EST, and BTS. Soon, MAMAMOO is seen to continue the song, and the girls once again showed off their amazing vocal abilities as they are dressed in traditional Korean inspired outfits.
(G)I-DLE is then seen dressed in all-white. All the members are seen smiling as they sing, but Yuqi deserves a special mention for putting her whole heart into capturing the message of the song with her movements and expression. Get her an acting gig, stat!
(G)I-DLE is soon followed by Oh My Girl, who currently has the move colorful outfits out of all the groups. Dressed in shades of pink, blue, and purple, the girls did not fail to show their lovely charms as they sang the song.
GFRIEND is then seen singing the song. Though dressed in gothic, all-black outfits and dark-colored make-up, they still manage to look lovely and lively as they sing "HIGHWAY ROMANCE", showing their duality even with this simple and short clip.
The rest of the NCT members are seen after GFRIEND, standing close together as they sing. They are quickly followed by Stray Kids, who are posed as if they are in a hip-hop video and are showing off their swag and coolness as they sing.
NU'EST soon follows Stray Kids. The five-member group is seen in all-black, but despite that, they bring fun and youthful energy to the song. Especially members Ren and Minhyun, who can't stop smiling and clapping as they sing! Members JR, Baekho, and Aron are even seen flashing hearts!
Taemin is the first soloist we see in the video, and he is seen looking like a Christmas prince, wearing a navy-blue jacket and a white top. His vocals shine as he sings, perfectly hitting the high note!
MONSTA X is seen making their second appearance in the video, with members Showny and Kihyun adding some comic relief by dramatically unbuttoning their jackets when the beat hit. The boys are seen with smiles on their faces as they sway and sing.
They are soon followed by GOT7. Some members are seen with their arms around each other, while others are seen grooving to the music, sing-along, and bouncing on their feet. Though dressed in black and grey outfits, they still manage to capture the Christmas spirit.
The last performers are BTS. Like TWICE, they are seen on stage. The members are seen wearing the same outfits they had for their "Dynamite" stage - blue and brown suits. As the members sing, Jungkook impresses by hitting the high note by himself! The members sway as they sing, hyping up the stage despite there being no audience.
