Former iKON Member B.I Joins as a Volunteer in a Fan Project

Kim Hanbin, a former iKON member, was recently spotted participating in a fan project as a volunteer.

On Dec. 19, Kim Hanbin (B.I) was seen working as a volunteer in a fan project that aims to help people who are currently experiencing difficulties due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, especially the less fortunate individuals. Since it is already winter in South Korea, briquettes were distributed so that people can use it to warm their home.

A Korean fan base took to Twitter to share a series of photos of Hanbin doing volunteer works together with fans and other volunteers in Incheon. The fan base also revealed that Kim showed up in the volunteer site with warm tea and sweet potatoes. The former iKON member trended after the fan base posted the pictures, which show his kind and gentle action.

 

Moreover, fans described how Kim Hanbin and his friends immediately began working as soon as they arrived and also wore the proper work clothes. And after they finished distributing briquettes to the people, Kim Hanbin took the time to talk with the fans and give them his autograph. Fans also told Kim to take care of his weight, to which he said that it is not they should not worry about.

Three days prior to the event, the fan base posted an announcement stating that they are looking for volunteers who would like to take part in the project.

Kim Hanbin, who is the former leader of boy group iKON, was appointed as one of the new executive director of IOK Company this past September, and he is the youngest among them. The agency is home to numerous celebrities including Go Hyun Jung, Kim Sook, Jo In Sung, Lee Young Ja, Moon Hee Jun, and Jang Yoon Jung.

According to the company, Hanbin has matured during his break in the entertainment industry and while regularly volunteering and donating. IOK also shared that Kim plans to begin being active as a producer as he continues to take the time to self-reflect. However, his solo activities are yet to be discussed as soon as the public's understanding and acceptance about his past controversy are sufficient.

In June 2019, Dispatch reported that iKON's B.I attempted to purchase marijuana and LSD in 2016 and that the police did not investigate him in spite of knowing about the matter. The report also stated that an individual named "A" was arrested because of dealing with drugs, and this "A" was known to have a conversation with B.I, who was asking him to purchase drugs as a proxy.

This past February, it was revealed that Hanbin tested negative in drug tests. However, ahead of the results, Kim has already departed from the group in June 2019 following the reports. His last release was when he was featured in former label-mate Lee Hi's song "No One." He also co-produced the track "1, 2" from her extended play titled "24°C."

Meanwhile, his last music as an iKON member is the group's second studio album "Return," featuring the lead single "Love Scenario."
