Yuehua Entertainment Finally Gives an Update Regarding EVERGLOW

Yuehua Entertainment has finally issued a statement, updating fans about EVERGLOW after weeks since their announcement about members Yiren and Sihyeon testing positive for COVID-19.

On the evening of Jan. 9, EVERGLOW's management agency Yuehua Entertainment uploaded a notice to the girl group's official SNS accounts, sharing the current status of the members.

 

"Hello, this is Yuehua Entertainment. This is an announcement to confirm that EVERGLOW has been released from quarantine and that members Sihyeon and Yiren have now tested negative.

Since December 1, 2020 when Sihyeon and Yiren tested positive for COVID-19, they have been focusing on receiving treatment. As of tonight, they have tested negative in their final tests and have been cleared to resume daily activities.

The other four members of EVERGLOW remains in quarantine for having been in close contact with Sihyeon and Yiren, but they will soon resume their communication with the fans.

We will continue to actively cooperate with government policies and put the health and safety of our artists and staff as our top priority. Once again, we apologize for causing concern to many fans, and also for making the fans wait so long. Thank you."

Recently, EVERGLOW fans also known as Forever have been extremely worried about the girl group as they have not heard from them since November 2020. The band's last update on their YouTube channel was on Nov. 27, while on Twitter was on Nov. 28. Yuehua Entertainment has also not released any statement since Dec. 1. The company only updated its Twitter on Dec. 29 to greet Yiren with a happy birthday.

On the evening of Dec. 1, 2020, Yuehua Entertainment issued a statement disclosing that Yiren and Sihyeon had been diagnosed with COVID-19 and the other four members, who have tested negative for the virus, will go into self-quarantine for two weeks. According to the record label, Yiren had been in close contact with one of her acquaintances who is confirmed positive for COVID-19. The virus was then transmitted from her friend to her and then to Sihyeon.

Months ahead of the saddening news, EVERGLOW released a few mini-albums. On Feb. 3, the girl group issued its first mini-album titled "Reminiscence" with the lead single "Dun Dun." The song becomes the band's very first entry on one of Gaon's single charts. In particular, it was at No. 63 on the Download Chart. The mini-album also debuted on the Gaon Chart, claiming the No. 4 position on the Album Chart after selling more than 27,000 copies within a month.

On March 6, the sextet embarked on its "Everlasting Tour in USA" starting with a show in Dallas, Texas, followed by Atlanta, Chicago, and Jersey City. The group was also scheduled to perform in Los Angeles, however, due to the COVID-19, their sold-out event was canceled.

EVERGLOW launched their second mini-album titled "-77.82X-78.29" on Sept. 21. It consists of the lead single "La Di Da" and three other tracks: "Untouchable," "Gxxd Boy," and "No Good Reason." The lead single was co-written by EVERGLOW's E:U.
