Click-B Bassist Kim Sang Hyuk Claims He Doesn't Remember Sexually Assaulting Woman On Wednesday: Victim Drops Charges

Click-B bass player and singer Kim Sang Hyuk says he doesn't remember sexually assaulting a female Wednesday night as he walked through the Nonhyun-dong section of Seoul's Gangnam District.

According to Gangnam police, Kim approached a woman on the street, grabbed her hand and said "let's go somewhere."

The victim, who reportedly had the sexual assault charges against the star dropped on Friday, had no idea who the musician was.

She promptly called police, according to the website Soompi.

"I was so drunk, I don't remember anything," Kim said during police questioning, according to local authorities.

A friend of the Click-B band member confirmed to StarNews on Thursday, that the bassist did not recall the alleged assault.

"Kim Sang Hyuk has returned home after ending the police investigation," the anonymous source added.

"He is still not completely sober yet."

According to another source close to the musician, shortly after sobering up, Kim met with his victim.

"After being questioned, Kim Sang Hyuk went to see the accuser and sincerely apologized to her," the source told South Korean publication enews.

"The accuser dropped the case [the next day] after receiving his apology."

The decision presumably took a huge weight off of Kim's shoulders. The penalty for sexual assault in South Korea is up to 10 years in prison and can also result in $15,000 in fines.

The penalty can increase if the perpetrator is found to be intoxicated at the time of the attack, which Kim confessed to police that he was.

According to the second source, the Click-B bassplayer was just blowing off steam after completing a two-year enlistment in the South Korean army on May 16.

"We believe the incident happened because he was too happy and drunk after drinking with friends following his release from his military duties," the source said.

"He is very sorry for causing trouble."

The incident is not Kim's first brush with the law. The musician was charged with a DUI in 2005 after being found guilty in a hit-and-run car accident.

The singer and bassist took a prolonged hiatus from the music industry following his 2005 arrest.

Earlier this month, Kim said on the Mnet program "Wide Entertainment News" that he was never that into K-pop girl groups before he joined the army.

"I actually wasn′t very interested in female celebrities when I was still active [in music] but I started to take a liking to them while serving as a public service worker," he said.

"Girls′ Generation [SNSD]′s Seohyun, Davichi′s Kang Min Kyung and f(x)′s Krystal were a big help."
