BLACKPINK's 'Lovesick Girls' Surpasses 30 Million Streams on Genie + Achieves New Record on MelOn Chart

BLACKPINK is the biggest girl group today. As a matter of fact, Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé have been reaping all the fruits of their hard work recently as most of the tracks included in "The Album" have been making waves in various music charts around the world.

BLACKPINK's 'Lovesick Girls' surpassed 30 million streams on Genie

On Saturday, Jan. 30, the "Lovesick Girls" track of BLACKPINK reached another milestone after it was able to garner more than 30 million streams on the popular music site Genie. It is the second song of Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé from "The Album" to make it to the 30 million streams mark.

As of this writing, "How You Like That" is already streamed 42,482,588 times on Genie, while "Ice Cream" has recorded 13,984,796 streams already. Other "The Album" songs that made waves on the music site include "Pretty Savage" with 6,739,421 streams and "Bet You Wanna," which BLACKPINK's collaboration with American rapper Cardi B, with a total of 6,671,696 streams.

Moreover, "Crazy Over You" was streamed 2,783,744 times. "Love To Hate Me," on the other hand, has recorded a total of 2,796,500 streams, and "You Never Know" got more than 2,197,000 streams as of late. For starters, "The Album" is considered the first full-length work of BLACKPINK since they were launched five years ago.

"Lovesick Girls" by BLACKPINK was dropped on Oct. 2, 2020. The official music video of the track also premiered on YouTube on the same date. In the clip, members dealt with heartbreak in their own ways while hitting the empty streets to mourning alone in the bathtub and a car.

The "Lovesick Girls" music video has collected more than 338 million views on YouTube already. The clip even garnered 11 million likes and more than 1.9 million comments as of press time.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK has become the K-Pop idol group with the most songs to spend 15 weeks in the Top 10 of the MelOn Weekly Chart. Following the YG Entertainment-managed group are BIGBANG and Wondergirls with two songs each. BTS, iKON, and TWICE came in third place with one song each.

At the moment, "Lovesick Girls" is part of the most recent Top 10 MelOn Weekly Chart while "DDU DDU DDU DDU" and "Like the Last" remains two of the most like tracks of Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé in the said platform. Other most-listened songs by BLACKPINK on MelOn include "How You Like That," "Playing With Fire," "Kill This Love," "STAY," "Forever Young," "Whistle," and "Ice Cream," among others.

In other news, BLACKPINK reigned supreme in the recently concluded First Brand Awards 2021 as they were proclaimed as the Best Female Idol. BTS has conferred the Best Male Idol award, while Stray Kids and (G)I-DLE were announced as the Hot Trend K-pop groups.

Kang Daniel is the Best Male Solo Singer while Hwasa is this year's Best Female Solo Singer. K-Pop groups TREASURE and Weeekly were also proclaimed as the Rookie Idols to watch out for.
