From BLACKPINK's "Lovesick Girls" to BTS' "Black Swan," let's take a look back and see which K-pop dances were the most popular in 2020!

BLACKPINK Had the Most Popular Choreographies among Girl Groups

In terms of girl groups, 2020 was definitely BLACKPINK's year. They released three music videos, "Ice Cream (With Selena Gomez), "Lovesick Girls," and "How You Like That" in 2020. The latter two earned massive popularity thanks to their catchy beats and addicting choreography.

Although the official dance practice video for "Lovesick Girls" was only released in Oct. 2020, fans around the world showed it lots of love, and the video currently has over 143 million views.

For a dance practice video (or any video for a K-pop artist, in general), this is a massive feat and perfectly shows the charms of BLACKPINK!

BTS Has the Most Popular Choreographies among Boy Groups

While "Dynamite" may have taken the world by storm for its disco-infused, catchy, bright beats, it was "ON" and "Black Swan" that caught the attention of K-pop dance enthusiasts.

"ON" is known for its numerous hand movements and foot movements that never appear to stop or stay still.

Previously, a back-up dancer for BTS said that after learning the "ON" choreography, he had to rest for five days because of how breathless he was dancing the song!

"Black Swan," on the other hand, attracted people's attention for being both hard and song. BTS shows their ability to control the tension with their bodies. Despite how easy it may look, "Black Swan" is arguably one of their most tiring, difficult, and complicated choreographies to date. All that while dancing, too!

Another reason why "Black Swan" is so well-loved is because of its influences on modern dance. And who is an expert at modern dance! Why, it's BTS member Jimin, who was a modern dance major in high school and ranked number one in his school's dance department!
