BTS Becomes the First Korean Artist to Have All Tracks in an Album to Surpass 100 Million Streams on Spotify

BTS is the first ever Korean artist to have all tracks in an album surpass 100 million streams on Spotify!

On April 4 KST, BTS becomes the first ever Korean artist to have all their tracks in a single album to surpass 100 million streams on Spotify with "Map of the Soul: Persona."

"Map of the Soul: Persona," which was released in 2019, contains seven tracks: "Intro: Persona," "Boy With Luv," "Mikrokosmos," "Make It Right," "Home," "Jamais Vu" and "Dionysus."

With their song "Intro: Persona," surpassing 100 million streams on April 4, the album has become the group's first ever album with all tracks having more than 100 million streams, in addition to being the first ever Korean artist to do so.

Currently, "Intro: Persona" has more than 100 million streams; "Boy With Luv" with more than 630 million streams; "Mikrokosmos" having more than 155 million streams; "Make It Right" with more than 166 million streams; more than 140 million streams for "Home"; "Jamais Vu" has more than 124 million streams; and "Dionysus" surpassing 145 million streams.

Likewise, "Map of the Soul: Persona" has an accumulative streams of more than 1.46 billion, as of now.

Additionally, BTS has 59 songs that have surpassed 100 million streams, and accumulated more than 16 billion streams with all of their tracks and albums that are available on Spotify, becoming the first Korean artist to do so, as well.

BTS's "Spring Day" Music Video Surpasses 400 Million Views

Adding to BTS's long list of milestones, on April 5 KST, the group's music video for their 2017 hit song "Spring Day" surpassed 400 million views on Youtube, becoming the 12th music video to do so after "Dope," "Save Me," "Fire," "DNA," "Fake Love," "Blood, Sweat & Tears," "Mic Drop (Steve Aoki Remix)," "Not Today," "IDOL," "Boy With Luv," and "Dynamite."

"Spring Day," known as the "queen" amongst ARMY, was originally released on Feb. 13, 2017 KST. It took 1,512 days or four years, one month and 24 days for the song to surpass 400 million views.

"Spring Day" Speculated to be about the Sewol Ferry Tragedy

There has been speculation among ARMYs that "Spring Day" is about the Sewol Ferry tragedy that took the lives of more than 300 passengers, with more than 200 of them being high school students.

The lyrics of "Spring Day" is centered around friendship, with friends missing one another because they are unable to meet. In addition, many fans have speculated the meaning behind some scenes in the music video, such as the train corridor in the music video to represent the corridor in the ferry.

Although the speculation has not been confirmed, BTS's RM says that every viewer can have their own interpretation of the music video, so they would leave the speculations open.
