5 K-pop Leaders Known for Always Prioritizing Their Members [Updated 2022]
A good leader is not someone who just cares about the fans but for the members as well. Here are five K-pop leaders who are known for always putting their members first and prioritizing their needs.
1. GOT7 Jay B
Jay B, who previously went by the stage name JB, debuted in 2014 as the leader of GOT7.
Back in Jan. 2021, GOT7's seven-year exclusive contract with JYP Entertainment and all the members chose not to renew, departing from the agency. However, the members have clearly stated that GOT7 was not disbanding.

On Mar. 17, Jay B revealed through his Instagram Stories that he has been busy with the paperwork for GOT7. The idol mentioned that he badly wanted to release their song, "Encore," so he took care of the group's trademark transfer and distribution.
In his Story, he said, "You can see it as if I have done everything a leader should do."
2. Shinhwa Eric
Eric is the leader of the K-pop veteran group, Shinhwa. The group debuted in 1998 and has remained as a group for 23 years (and going!), serving as a role model for many idols.
Earlier this year, Eric publicly expressed his disappointment in member Kim Dongwan, who has not been active in their private group chat for six years and does not appear at Shinhwa's meetings. In response, Kim Dongwan expressed regret for his actions.

Afterward, Eric revealed that the two have reconciled and promised fans they will work better in the future. Eric showed his responsibility as a leader, not forgetting to thank the fans of Shinhwa as well as his members for continuing to work hard.
3. BTS RM
RM is the leader of the superstar boy group, who is now known as South Korea's "National Treasure," BTS.
Since the start, RM has been an essential member of the group. The male has helped produce a number of BTS songs and helped form BTS's unique color with his musicality.

RM's leadership skills have also helped the group maintain a friendship that goes beyond just work. Additionally, RM is a member with the best English skills, and he is often in charge of speaking at overseas activities and communicating with international fans.
In an interview, BTS expressed their gratitude and respect for RM. They have stated that RM takes responsibility every time something bad happens and shares the glory with the members whenever something good happens.
4. Super Junior Leeteuk
Leeteuk, the leader of over 10-year strong group Super Junior, is someone who often expresses his affection for the members. However, his leadership goes just beyond group activities.
In 2007, members of Super Junior were involved in a traffic accident. At the time, Leeteuk was seriously injured and required 160 stitches at his waist. A rescue crew found Leeteuk bleeding and attempted to transfer him to a stretcher.

However, he told the rescue crew he was alright and asked him to attend to Kyuhyun first, who was next to him.
Leeteuk, who prioritized the members first, has proven his love for the members even in a dangerous situation.
5. Oh My Girl Hyojung
Hyojung is the leader of Oh My Girl, a girl group that achieved breakthrough success in 2020. The female idol is famous for laughing all the time, as she is full of positive and bright energy. As the oldest member and the leader, Hyojung is the type to always listen to her team members.
During a variety show, Binnie was given a penalty and had to face a bungee jump. However, Binnie has a fear of heights. Knowing this, Hyojung volunteered to take the penalty in Binnie's place, showing her immense love for her members.
