TWICE, BTS, and More: These are the K-Pop Artists with the Most RIAJ Streaming Certifications

Over the years, numerous K-pop artists have garnered RIAJ Certifications. RIAJ — the Recording Industry Association of Japan — gives certification based on music sales. Want to know which K-pop artists have received the most RIAJ certifications? Then keep on reading!

TWICE is the K-Pop Artist with The Most RIAJ Streaming Certifications

TWICE has earned a whopping fourteen RIAJ streaming certifications. Their first Japanese compilation album, "#TWICE," achieved platinum certification, meaning it surpassed 250,000 downloads. The physical version group's first Japanese single, "One More Time," was also certified platinum, meaning it also reached 250,000 downloads. "TT (Japanese Ver.)" was certified gold for surpassing 50,000,000 streams.

In 2018, the physical version of their second Japanese single, "Candy Pop," was certified platinum for selling 250,000 digital downloads, making it their second Japanese single to do so. Their third Japanese single, "Wake Me Up," became the first physical single by a non-Japanese female artist to be certified double platinum by the RIAJ, meaning it sold 500,000 downloads. Their first Japanese studio album, "BDZ," was certified platinum by the RIAJ, making it TWICE's fifth consecutive platinum certification in the country.

In 2019, "Happy Happy" and "Breakthrough" were both certified platinum by the RIAJ.

BTS is the Male K-Pop Artist With The Most RIAJ Streaming Certifications

Following TWICE is BTS, who has earned 13 RIAJ streaming certifications. The boys made their first-ever RIAJ certification in 2017 with the single "Crystal Snow." The Japanese single sold more than 380,000 copies by the end of the year, making BTS the only foreign artist to be certified double platinum by the RIAJ in 2017.

In 2019, BTS's song "Lights" sold over one million copies and earned a Million certification by the RIAJ. This is the first time a male artist has achieved a Million certification since Masafumi Akikawa's "A Thousand Winds," which was released in Aug. 2007. This is BTS's first million certification in Japan since their debut.

BLACKPINK is the K-Pop Girl Group With the Third Most RIAJ Streaming Certifications

The K-pop artist with the most RIAJ certifications is BLACKPINK, with six streaming certifications! Their debut song, "BOOMBAYAH," is certified silver. Other TWICE songs that are certified silver in the country are "As If It's Your Last," "DDU-DU DDU-DU," and "Lovesick Girls." This means that these four songs were streamed over 30,000,000 times in Japan.

Their song "Kill This Love" and "How You Like That" are certified gold in Japan, meaning it has surpassed 50,000,000 streams in the country.
