SEVENTEEN is the Best-Selling K-Pop Group That Debuted in 2015 on Gaon

According to data from Gaon Music Chart, SEVENTEEN is the best-selling K-pop group among idol groups that debuted in 2015, with 6,539,468 online and offline album sales. SEVENTEEN has seen success on the Gaon Charts very early on in their career.

Their second mini-album, "Boys Be," which was released on Sept. 10, 2015, scored a nomination at the Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards. In 2020, their seventh mini-album "Heng:garae" sold 1,00,000 copies in under a week, making the group official million sellers.

This earned them a certification from the Gaon charts.

SEVENTEEN became official double million sellers that same year with their second special album "Home;Run." This album made headlines after it was revealed that it sold more than a million copies through pre-orders.

TWICE is the Best-Selling Female K-Pop Group That Debuted in 2015 on Gaon

Coming in second place and rising about other girl groups that debuted in 2015 is the JYP Entertainment girl group is TWICE!

According to drama from Gaon Music Chart, TWICE has sold 5,892,113 albums both online and offline. Like SEVENTEEN, TWICE has seen success on the Gaon Charts early on in their careers.

Their debut mini-album, "The Story Begins," debuted at number 4 on the Gaon Album Charts, with its title track "LIKE Ooh-Ahh" debuting at number 22 on the Gaon Digital Chart and peaking at number ten. Their second mini-album, "Page Two," peaked at number two on the Gaon Album Chart.

The album's title track, "Cheer Up," peaked at the top of the Gaon Digital Chart.

Their 2017 release, "Signal," peaked at the top of the Gaon Digital Chart, with the mini-album of the same name peaking at the top of the Gaon Album Chart.

Later that year, their Chrismas album "Merry & Happy" peaked at the top of the Gaon Album Chart, with its lead single "Heart Shaker" peaking at the top of the Gaon Digital Chart.

Their 2018 release "Dance the Night Award" peaked at the top of the Gaon Music Chart and earned TWICE their first platinum single certification.

The following year, in 2019, it was announced that TWICE sold over one million albums on Gaon for the third year in a row.

In 2020, their mini-album "More & More" sold 563,000 sold on Gaon, making it TWICE's best-selling album and also the highest sales volume for a girl group in Gaon Chart history at the time. On Dec. 1, 2020, it was announced that TWICE had surpassed 5.81 million album sales on Gaon.
