ITZY Proves Global Popularity as 'GUESS WHO' Debuts on Billboard 200 and 'Mafia in the Morning' MV Surpasses 70M Views

ITZY has once again proven themselves as one of the rapidly rising K-pop groups after their comeback album "GUESS WHO" entered the Billboard 200 chart. In addition to this, the music video for "Mafia in the Morning" has already exceeded 70 million views.

ITZY Debuts on Billboard 200 with "GUESS WHO"

On May 10 (local time), Billboard announced via Twitter the fifteen debuts on the Billboard 200 dated May 15, and one of those is ITZY's "GUESS WHO." The album charted at No. 148 with 8,000 copies sold in the United States. This marks the girl group's very first entry on the said Billboard chart.

The Billboard 200 is a weekly chart that ranks the top 200 most popular albums and extended plays in the United States. The rankings are based mostly on album sales in the US. It is used to show the popularity of a solo artist or group in the country.

ITZY expressed their gratitude to the fans for their recent achievement. On Twitter, the quintet posted an image along with a caption that says, "So thankful to debut on #Billbord200. Thank you, MIDZY."

The JYP Entertainment girl group now joins BoA, Girls' Generation-TTS, 2NE1, Girls' Generation, BLACKPINK, TWICE, and LOONA as the only K-pop female artist to debut on Billboard 200. Additionally, ITZY becomes the third fourth-generation group to achieve this milestone, following TOMORROW X TOGETHER and LOONA.

Previously, Yeji, Lia, Yuna, Chaeryeong, and Ryujin have ranked 15 times on different US Billboard charts, including the Billboard Global 200, World Digital Song Sales, World Albums, and others.

In addition to the Billboard chart, ITZY's "GUESS WHO" also made it to Rolling Stone's Top 200 Albums Chart for the week of April 30 to May 6. The album secured the No. 164 spot, showing their increasing popularity in the US.

To date, "GUESS WHO" is the most-streamed album by a fourth-generation group in a week on Rolling Stone's Top 200 Albums Chart. It currently has 3.2 million streams.

ITZY's "Mafia in the Morning" Music Video Hits over 70 Million Views on YouTube

The music video for ITZY's "Mafia in the Morning" is also receiving great attention on YouTube. The MV has already surpassed 70 million views on the platform.

On May 11 at 6 a.m. KST, the MV recorded 75.81 million views and is running toward 100 million views faster than the previous music videos of the girl group.

Moreover, "Mafia in the Morning" debuted at No. 1 on the YouTube Global Top Songs Chart for the week of April 30 to May 6. The MV scored the top spot with 62.4 million streams. With this, ITZY has become the third K-pop group after BTS and BLACKPINK to hit the first position of the chart.

The music video for ITZY's comeback song even made it to YouTube Global Top Music Videos Chart for the same week. It took the No. 4 spot with 32.2 million views, making it the highest-ranking K-pop MV for that week.
