Sandara Park, a former 2NE1 member, will be leaving her long-time agency, YG Entertainment.

YG Entertainment Announces Sandara Park's Departure from the Company

On May 14, YG Entertainment announced in an official statement that the exclusive contract between them and Sandara Park has ended. The company added, "We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Sandara Park who has been with YG for 17 years, for having faith and trust in us during that time."

YG Entertainment then said that they will continue to support Sandara's endeavors and also help her as she prepares for her new start. Park is the last 2NE1 member to leave the label.

"We established our relationship with her in 2004 and she made her debut with 2NE1 in 2009. She has been doing promotions in a variety of fields such as music, acting, fashion, MC, and beauty. Please continue to support and show interest in her so she can shine even more," YGE continued.

2NE1's former agency concluded their statement by thanking the fans for loving Sandara Park throughout her career while being a YG artist.

Former YG CEO Yang Hyunsuk scouted Sandara Park back in 2004 following her appearance on a certain KBS documentary.

However, Park only signed with the entertainment company in 2007 when she returned to South Korea with her family after her contract expiration with a Philippine agency.

In May 2009, Sandara Park, under her stage name Dara, debuted with CL, Bom, and Minzy as YG Entertainment's four-member girl group 2NE1. Dara was the visual, vocalist, and sub-rapper of the quartet. Among the 2NE1 members, Park was the first to make her solo debut in the same year as the band's debut.

Titled "Kiss," Dara's solo debut track featured her bandmate CL and was released in July 2009 after she was featured in "Hello," a song from BIGBANG G-Dragon's album "Heartbreaker."

When 2NE1 disbanded in November 2016, Sandara Park renewed her contract with YG Entertainment. She has since then doing promotions as a solo artist.

In 2017, Dara started her solo career by being the host of OnStyle's beauty program called "Get It Beauty," together with Honey Lee and former Gugudan member Kim Sejeong. She then made her domestic debut film in "One Step," where Han Jaesuk also starred.

Since that year, the former 2NE1 member has received and accepted numerous offers of becoming a host, a judge, or a cast member for a television show or playing a role in a movie. When it comes to her music career, she was featured in Park Bom's single "Spring" in 2019.

Last year, Sandara starred in the stage adaptation of the tvN drama "Another Oh Haeyoung," marking her musical debut. Unfortunately, Dara didn't release any solo track as she was busy appearing on various programs. Her last release was "Spring" with her fellow former 2NE1 member Bom.

But fans can often see her upload new content to her YouTube channel. Not to mention, she collaborated with iKON Jay in December last year to cover Iñigo Pascual's "Dahil Sayo"," which she posted on her YouTube channel.
