MONSTA X 'Flavors of Love' Tops Oricon, Tower Records Charts

Shortly after its release, MONSTA X has been on the path to dominating the Japanese music industry with "Flavors of Love," topping the Oricon and Tower Records charts.

Released last May 5, "Flavors of Love" is the Starship Entertainment boy group's third Japanese-language album and their eighth overall. Showing its immense popularity, the album topped the Tower Records Weekly Album Charts, dated May 3 to May 9.

MONSTA X dominated the Japanese charts - Oricon and Tower Records singles charts - with the single "Wanted" last March 2021. It then conquered additional spots on both charts with "Wish on the Same Sky" and "Love Killa" (Japanese Ver.).

Additionally, a report from Billboard Japan shares that the group has sold 20,312 copies during its debut week, topping its weekly albums charts.

The third Japanese-language album was announced as a surprise last March 9, 2021, after the release of their single album "Wanted." They soon revealed that "Flavors of Love" will have 11 songs in it, including five all-new Japanese tracks and six previously released singles. The songs include the Japanese versions for "Follow," "FANTASIA," and their 2020 hit single "Love Killa." Other songs in the album are "Wanted," "Re:Verse Day," "Secret," "Detox," "Diamond Heart," "Wish on the Same Sky," "NEO UNIVERSE," and the title track "Flavors of Love."

As one of the top groups in the industry today, MONSTA X has ended the previous year on a high note, receiving their first Daesang for "Stage of the Year" at the 2020 Asia Artist Awards, as well as the "Best Performance" at the 2020 Melon Music Awards and "Best Stage" at the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards.

Meanwhile, MONSTA X is now preparing for its Korean comeback with its ninth mini-album, "One of a Kind," to be released on June 1.
