ATEEZ Wooyoung and San Get Friendship Tattoos

Earlier in May, Wooyoung gave ATEEZ fans ATINY a glimpse of his new tattoo when he was seen at the airport in a pair of camouflage shorts and a hoodie, with his shorts being short enough for fans to clearly see a tattoo on his right thigh.

Wooyoung's tattoo has the Latin phrase "amicus ad aras" spelled out. To some, it may seem like a normal tattoo of a phrase, but to fans, they knew that the tattoo wasn't just random and was able to quickly recognize the meaning behind it.

The Latin phrase, "amicus ad aras," translates to "friend to the very end," "life-long partner," or "a friend as far as to the altar." ATEEZ fans immediately knew that this phrase signifies Wooyoung's friendship with fellow member San, who is dubbed as "WooSan" collectively, as it is something that they often say to each other as seen with just how close and tight-knit their relationship is.

Upon seeing Wooyoung's tattoo, fans immediately assumed that San had also gotten a matching tattoo due to its significance for the two ATEEZ members. However, neither San nor Wooyoung confirmed or denied the assumption.

After weeks of being left in the dark, San finally spoke up about the possible matching tattoos, and confirmed that the "amicus ad aras" is indeed Wooyoung and San's friendship tattoo through messages on the Universe app, a global platform for fans and artists, after the topic was brought up.

According to San, he doesn't regret getting the tattoo with Wooyoung, as he won't be able to find a friend like him anywhere. He adds that although they bicker with each other a lot, Wooyoung is a very precious friend of his.

San also revealed that he got the tattoo on his right thigh as well - which confirms fans' assumption - although the ATEEZ member has yet to show his tattoo to the public. He also shared his process of getting the tattoo and revealed that it was painful to get. But with Wooyoung's support, such as being loud, holding his hand, and squeezing a plushie toy, San was able to endure the pain.

Upon finding out that the two have matching friendship tattoos, fans couldn't help but find the meaning behind it so heartwarming.
