SEVENTEEN's Hoshi Donates 100 Million Won in Celebration of His Birthday

According to the Gyeonggi Northern Social Welfare Community Chest, SEVENTEEN member Hoshi made a hefty donation of 100 million won (around $89 thousand USD) to the Namyangju Welfare Foundation on June 10 KST, and subsequently qualified to join as a member of the "Honor Society," a club that consists of members who have made large donations with a good heart.

In particular, Hoshi's 100 million won donation was made as a way to commemorate and celebrate his 25th birthday (26th in Korean age) on June 15, which makes the donation even more special.

According to reports, Hoshi is said to have actively participated in making donations after hearing the news that there is an increase in the number of people and households that are in need of a helping hand in local communities, as there is a decrease in donations from corporate and individual sponsorships due to the prolonged COVID-19.

Jo Gwang Han, the mayor of Namyangju City, said, "I think that the impact and ripple effect of a person who is well-known to the public making a donating is enormous. Thank you for not forgetting the local communities and conveying a warm heart. We will use the donation well and work harder in detecting the blind spots of our community, and offer the greatest support that we can."

Besides the donation in celebration of his 25th birthday, Hoshi has continued to participate in making donations and spreading a meaningful and good influence. Just last year, Hoshi made a donation to give scholarships to students in need from the alma mater he graduated from.

In addition, SEVENTEEN also continues to do good deeds. Last May 2021, during their sixth debut anniversary, SEVENTEEN made a donation to Good Neighbors to support children who were abused and helped those in need.

SEVENTEEN Gearing Up for Comeback

Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN, who is causing a positive ripple effect with their good influence on the public, had confirmed that they would be making their comeback with their eighth mini-album, "Your Choice." The new album consists of six songs such as "Heaven's Cloud," "Ready to Love," "Anyone," "Gam3 Bo1," "Wave," and "Same Dream, Same Mind, Same Night."

"Your Choice" will be released on June 18 at 6 pm KST and will be made available through various online music streaming sites. Prior to the release of the album, a global press conference will be held on the same day at 4:30 pm KST.
