Girls' Generation Hyoyeon is set to make a solo comeback as DJ HYO in August!
On July 19, SPO TV News reported that Hyoyeon will release new music in August. An official from SM Entertainment has since issued a brief statement through Star News.
Hyoyeon will be the second Girls' Generation member to return as a solo artist, following Taeyeon, who released a new single, entitled "Weekend," early this July.

An official from SM Entertainment told Star News that Hyoyeon will indeed drop new music in August as DJ HYO.

According to SPO TV News, Hyoyeon's new single is due out in mid-August. SM Entertainment's official, however, did not confirm if the release date will indeed be in mid-August.
Girls' Generation Hyoyeon solo comeback, a new single, will be her first solo single in about ten months since "Think About Me" (featuring Coogie), which was revealed through SM Station in October 2020.
Hyoyeon has been loved by domestic and foreign fans for her attractive vocals and powerful dancing skills. As a solo artist, she is well-known as DJ HYO, which she uses either for releasing new solo tracks or when she acts as a DJ at events.
Girls' Generation Hyoyeon solo comeback is highly anticipated as the female idol has established herself as a soloist since 2018.

Girls' Generation Hyoyeon 2021 Activities So Far
In January, Girls' Generation member Hyoyeon guested on MBC's "Radio Star," where she shared how her DJ career is during this COVID-19 pandemic.
DJ HYO shared that she was able to perform in Taiwan and the Netherlands, and has been receiving a lot of invitations in other countries, despite the pandemic.

In particular, the Netherlands is one of her dream places to perform in as the country is considered the birthplace of DJs. Hyoyeon shared that she performed in front of famous producers at the time and gave her best for 30 minutes.
Girls' Generation Hyoyeon also revealed on MBC's "Radio Star" that she had thought about becoming a full-time DJ. She continued that she sent a long text message to Lee Soo Man (the founder of SM Entertainment) about this dream.

On May 1, Hyoyeon made a guest appearance on tvN's "Amazing Saturday," along with her fellow Girls' Generation members. Fans considered it special as the girl group's leader, Taeyeon, is one of the regular cast members of the variety show.
At that time, one of the topics they talked about was the legendary mistake Yuri made on stage back in 2007 when Girl's Generation appeared on a live music program.

SHINee Key revealed that Girls' Generation Yuri forgot the lyrics to her part so she just hummed it. He said that he was surprised as she only has one line but she forgot it.

Later in May, Hyoyeon met up with her bandmates, Yuri and Sooyoung, to play golf. She shared some photos of them through her Instagram account.
