BLACKPINK to Launch Eco-Friendly Merchandise in Celebration of Their 5th Anniversary

To commemorate their fifth anniversary since their debut, YG Entertainment's top girl group, BLACKPINK, will be releasing their special eco-friendly merchandise through the global fan community platform, Weverse, beginning August 6 KST.

According to reports, the special merchandise was planned with a lot of love for BLACKPINK's fans - collectively known as BLINK - who has been with the four-member group since their debut in 2016. All of the materials used in the merchandise are eco-friendly and are utilized to give the products more meaning, while helping the environment.

The eco-friendly collection features 44 types of merchandise in total that will be made using green materials as much as possible, including sofas, tote bags, pouches, phone cases, T-shirts, diary planners, stickers, and more.

In particular, the BLACKPINK sofa is drawing attention as it is the first time a sofa is being released as a fan merchandise by a K-Pop group. The sofa is an even more special BLACKPINK merchandise, as it is decorated with the member's own handwritings and drawings of their own pets. The sofa is made using TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) material, so it can be used both indoors and outdoors as it is portable.

However, the sofa is limited edition, that means BLINKs will need to move fast to get one!

The tote bag and pouch will come in two concepts - BLACKPINK and BLINK, and is expected to garner high satisfaction from fans as if features not only eco-friendly products, but it is also light and excellent in its durability. In addition, it's also cute!

Other merchandise such as planners, which contains photos of BLACKPINK and mini-games, character sticker packs, and badges, will also be available.

YG Entertainment will also be introducing T-shirts and phone cases using designs for BLACKPINK's fifth anniversary through their own official merchandise shop, YG SELECT.

Regarding the merchandise, YG Entertainment and BLACKPINK wanted to introduce friendly products that reflect the hearts of the BLACKPINK members who always want to be with BLINK. For that, they took into heavy consideration the design and practical aspects of the merchandise.

BLACKPINK's eco-friendly merchandise will be made available through Weverse Shop on August 6 KST.

Meanwhile, the first part of BLACKPINK's fifth anniversary celebration, "4+1 PROJECT," which is the release of "BLACKPINK The Movie," will premiere today (August 4), in more than a hundred countries around the world.
