BLACKPINK Jennie Says The Point Move of "DDU-DU DDU-DU" Wasn't Part of the Original Choreography

On August 8, BLACKPINK held a live stream to celebrate their 5th debut anniversary through Naver's V Live.

While reminiscing about their past and the fun memories they had, the BLACKPINK members reveal that the original choreography for "DDU-DU DDU-DU" did not include the finger fun move in the chorus.

Jennie revealed that the original move had the BLACKPINK members holding their hands out instead, with their palms down flat as they move their hands left and right. She then divulged that the members themselves changed this move to the iconic finger fun move on the day they were filming the music video.

Viewers who watched the live stream complimented the girls for making an iconic and memorable point dance. People stated that the move has become legendary in K-pop and that without it, the choreography might have appeared too bland.

However, some did agree that the original move does look rather cute when Jennie does it!

The demo version of the dance has been released online, and it shows what the original choreography was meant to look like. While the dance was complimented, many believed the original dance does not give off the current "DDU-DU DDU-DU" vibe.

Others wondered if YG Entertainment was just bad at making their artists' choreographies, noting that WINNER's "Really Really" was choreographed by an external team.
