BTS Jin Hints at Collab with Coldplay's Chris Martin

It seems that K-Pop's biggest boy band sensation, BTS, may have more to offer to the worldwide ARMYs as one of its members hinted at a possible collaboration with one of the UK's biggest bands!

Potential Coldplay Collab Hinted by BTS Jin at V Live

During a live fan session in BTS's V LIVE channel, held in the afternoon of August 9, Jin shared to more than two hundred viewers of the Livestream regarding the songwriting and production of the band's upcoming songs.

According to him, BTS has already finished recording one song, with another already half completed and still in the works.

Then, Jin proceeds to share a polaroid photo, taken courtesy of bandmate Taehyung (V), from his phone cover, and fans have been trying to make out who was on the picture.

ARMYs, then, speculated that based on the person's hairstyle, it appears to be Chris Martin, the lead singer-songwriter of the British rock band Coldplay.

Adding to the mystery is the description Jin gave. He mentions his admiration for the said overseas musicians since he was young and how discussions went well with the two. And, as a lucky charm, he places the mentioned photo on his phone.

More Songs and Collabs in the Works for BTS

Although neither BTS nor Big Hit Entertainment confirmed the collaboration with Coldplay or any artist, as of writing, their fans have recently speculated on the possibility.

The UK band announced last July the release of their next album, Music of the Spheres.

One of the tracks, titled "My Universe," was believed to be the collab with the K-Pop singers after its lyrics have allegedly leaked online.

Neither party has confirmed thus far, but that has not stopped the ARMYs from expressing their excitement on Twitter.

Whatever the truth may be, it suffices to say that BTS has indeed caught the attention of listeners and music industry peers well beyond their home market.

For the past few years, the K-Pop male idol phenomenon has crossover and dominated the Western music industry, thanks partly to their partnering with different singers and songwriters of the region.

Last year, BTS released their first English-language single with "Dynamite" and became their first No. 1 hit in the United States and one of the biggest hits of 2020.

This year, they continue to break records in the Anglophone world, with their hit songs "Butter" and "Permission to Dance."

The former became the longest-reigning chart-topper by a Korean act at the Billboard Hot 100 so far, while the latter instigated the "Permission to Dance Challenge," where they encouraged people to create a 15-second clip of them recreating the music video choreography, albeit with a personal twist.

Among the most notable acts to have taken the challenge was music legend, Elton John, as his way of showing admiration to both them and the ARMY.
