On August 19, the "Brand of the Year" Awards 2021 unveiled the winners who shined the most in the entertainment industry.
In particular, the Brand of the Year awards ceremony is an annual celebration hosted by the Korean Consumer Brand Committee along with the Korean Consumer Forum. The awards aim to give recognition to those who brightened the year, and winners are determined via online votings.
As a result, numerous top-tier K-pop groups and artists including BTS, IU, Lovelyz Mijoo, aespa, Weeekly, TREASURE, TXT, SHINee Key, ASTRO Eunwoo, and more won in their respective categories – proving their huge impact and popularity.
BTS, Brave Girls, aespa, TXT, Treasure & More, and more of the K-pop Groups Who Won in 2021 'Brand of the Year' Awards
Based on the results, BTS and Brave Girls were crowned as the idol groups of the year. Indeed both top-notch teams showcased impeccable performances by releasing hit tracks, "Butter" and "Rollin", respectively.
Brave Girls, who also met reverse-driving popularity in 2021 achieved another " Brand of the Year" award for the "Hot Icon" category.
Following them, TXT and Weeekly who emerged as "Rookie Monster" in the previous year proved the hot responses of K-pop domestic and global enthusiasts as they were selected as "Rising Stars" this year. In August, TXT just dropped their new song, "LO$ER=LO♡ER" while Weeekly also kicked off with their latest single, "Holiday Party."
Through their recent releases, it is expected that the two teams will flaunt more of their skills and potential through their upcoming promotional schedules.
Meanwhile, aespa and TREASURE established their titles as "Monster Rookies" after getting the ROTY for the respective category.

IU, Kang Daniel, SHINee Key, Kim Sejeong & More: K-pop Idols Who Won Titles in Brand of the Year Awards 2021
Along with the aforementioned groups who showed their power as a team, numerous K-pop idols showcased their individuality and charms as well this year.
Due to this, names such as IU, Kang Daniel, Key of SHINee, and more reigned in the categories for individual artists.
Based on the results, the "Nation's Sweetheart" IU bagged two trophies after winning as "Female Solo Artist of the Year," and "CF Model of the Year." Along with IU then, Kang Daniel was selected for the male solo artist category.
As for the acting industry, ASTRO Eunwoo and WJSN Bona were hailed as best idol-actor and idol-actress, while Girl's Day Hyeri who rose into stardom after her hit drama, "Reply 1988," was selected as "Rising Star Actress" for this year.
In the entertainment field, SHINee Key who's appearing in "Amazing Saturday," and Lovelyz Mijoo in "Sixth Sense," won as best entertainer idols.
Lastly, Kim Sejeong who is known as an "all-rounder" idol became the "Female Multi-Entertainer of the Year."
