ENHYPEN, Stray Kids, TXT and More: These 4th Gen Groups are Loved by Korean Teens Nowadays

On a Korean online forum, an internet user published an image taken from a new survey by Cosmopolitan. According to this, people in ages between 10-19 chose 4th-generation idol groups they believed are the best among teens.

These are the 4th Gen K-Pop Groups loved by Korean Teens today

The question asked to participants of the recent was: "Which group are you most interested in these days among 4th-generation idol groups?"

Here are the results of the survey:

The Boyz - 33.5%

The Boyz is a boy group under Cre.ker Entertainment with 11 members. The group originally has 12 members, they debuted on December 6, 2017 with their mini-album "The First."

Before their debut, the group released a pre-debut special MV titled "I'm Your Boy" last October 11, 2017.

Last September 5, the boy group placed 6th on the Gaon Album Retail Chart with their mini-album "THRILL-ING"

TOMORROW x TOGETHER - 32.4%

TOMORROW x TOGETHER or TXT is a five-member boy group under the management of BigHit Music. They debuted on March 4, 2019 with their mini-album "The Dream Chapter: Star."

Recently, the group placed 2nd on the Gaon Album Retail Chart with their album "The Chaos Chapter: FIGHT OR ESCAPE."

Last September 6, the group announced the release of their Japanese EP, "Chaotic Wonderland," which will be released on November 10.

Stray Kids - 15.5%

Stray Kids is an eight-member boy group under the management of JYP Entertainment. The group was formed through the reality show with the same name. They originally have nine members. The group debuted on March 25, 2018 with their mini-album "I am Not."

Before their debut, they also released a mini-album, "Mixtape," last January 8, 2018.

NCT - 4%

NCT is short for "Neo Culture Technology." It is a boy group under the management of SM Entertainment. The group consists of members divided into multiple sub-units based in major cities all over the world.

NCT Dream placed 39th, 44th and 46th on the Gaon Album Retail Chart last September 5 with their album "Hot Sauce - The 1st Album," "Hello Future - The 1st Album Repackage (Kit)" and "We Go Up - The 2nd Mini Album" respectively. NCT ranked in 42nd place with the album, "NCT RESONANCE Pt. 2 - The 2nd Album." While NCT 127 placed 45th with their album "NCT #127 Neo Zone - The 2nd Album (Kit)"

ENHYPEN - 2.6%

ENHYPEN is a seven-member boy group under Belift Lab. The group was formed through the reality show named "I-LAND" they debuted last November 30, 2020 with their first mini-album "Border: Day One."

The group placed 49th on the Gaon Album Retail Chart with their album "BORDER : Hakanai"

ATEEZ - 2%

ATEEZ is an eight-member boy group under the management of KQ Entertainment. They debuted last October 24, 2018 with their mini-album "Treasure EP.1: All to Zero."

The remaining 10% for the male category went to other miscellaneous groups.

Here are the results of the survey for the female category:

aespa - 46.2%

aespa is a four-member girl group under SM Entertainment. They debuted on November 17, 2020 with their digital single "Black Mamba."

Last August 26, the group was chosen as the new advertising model for outdoor brand "Eider." On the same day, SM Entertainment stated that the group has been chosen as advertisement models for different industries like apparel, banking, gaming, and telecommunications.

STAYC - 22.9%

STAYC is a girl group consisting of six-members under the management of High Up Entertainment. They debuted on November 12, 2020 with their first single "Star To A Young Culture."Last August 15, a spoiler image was published for StayC's first mini-album, "Stereotype" will be released on September 6.

ITZY - 15.4%

ITZY is a girl group under JYP Entertainment, it consists of five female members. They debuted on February 12, 2019 with their digital single "IT'z Different."

On September 1, the five-member group announced that they would be making their Japanese debut with their mini-album "WHAT'z ITZY."

Weeekly - 6.6%

Weeekly is a girl group under Play M Entertainment. They debuted with seven members on June 30, 2020 with their first mini-album "We Are."

Last August 1, PlayM Entertainment released a statement that announced member Shin Jiyoon's hiatus from all other activities because of recurring stress and anxiety. Because of this, the group's mini album "Play Game: Holiday," will be advertised with six members.

The last 8.9% went to other miscellaneous female groups.

Netizens debated the definition of "4th-generation," which most people say to be the groups that debuted after 2017. Aside from that, other netizens either agreed or disagreed with the results of the survey.
