In the music industry, numerous sub-units from K-pop groups were created through the years – such as SNSD-TTS, EXO-CBX, ASTRO's Moonbin & Sanha, and more. But among them, which sub-unit do K-pop fans voted as the most iconic?

Over a recent poll conducted by the K-pop fandom platform, Whosfan, ASTRO's Moonbin & Sanha were selected as the best unit with the "strongest chemistry."

The voting was held from August 31 to September 6, under the theme "[WhosPICK] Best Chemistry ever: Who is the best idol unit?" – a competition with top-tier sub-units including Girls' Generation-TTS, SEVENTEEN-BSS, Super Junior-D&E, and more.

ASTRO's Moonbin & Sanha Crowned as the Best Sub-unit

After a fierce battle with other sub-unit candidates, Astro's Moonbin & Sanha topped the list with 51.57% of the votes.

In particular, Moonbin & Sanha is the first-ever sub-unit of ASTRO which was launched in 2020. On September 14, the duo will be celebrating their first debut anniversary as a unit – after the release of their first mini-album, "In-Out" and its title track, "Bad Idea."

Following ASTRO's Moonbin & Sanha, BTOB's 4U came in second with 43.90% of the vote, while Red Velvet - Irene & Seulgi came in third with 2.23%.

BTOB 4U is comprised of Eunkwang, Changsub, Minhyuk, and Peniel. The sub-unit was formed with the current active members while waiting for Sungjae and Hyunsik – who are currently serving the military.

Meanwhile, Red Velvet - Irene & Seulgi is also the first unit created by the girl group. Some of their most notable releases include "Monster" and "Naughty."

As rewards for the first place, a press article was released by Hanteo News, an affiliate of Whosfan. Moonbin & Sanha will also receive a special pop-up advertisement on the official application that will run for a week.

Which K-pop Sub-unit is the Most Iconic?

The WhosPICK survey, organized based on fans' recommendations through Whosfan's official SNS account, also nominated other best performing sub-units.

Following Red Velvet - Irene & Seulgi, SEVENTEEN-BSS and EXO-CBX followed at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.

Joining Red Velvet and EXO sub-units, other SM Entertainment groups' sub-units also entered the rankings — including Super Junior - D&E composed of Donghae and Eunhyuk and Girls Generation - TTS (TaeTiSeo) comprised of Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun.

Meanwhile, since its official launch on May 22, 2020, the global K-pop fandom platform Whosfan has successfully secured 5.5 million users in a year under the support of global K-pop fandom, and recently surpassed 6.2 million users.
