On the 8th E-Daily Culture Awards, TWICE brought home the awards for "Best Concert" with their first online concert, "TWICE: World in a Day." Read more to know why the jury comprised of culture critics, professors, and researchers selected this concert as the winner.

On the 6th, E-Daily, the largest Korean online newspaper for economic and business news selected TWICE's "Beyond Live-TWICE: World in a Day," as the best concert at the 8th Culture Awards of the media outlet.

Among the strong candidates, the judges explained why they chose the female idol group's concert – proof of the power of TWICE as K-pop's representative girl group.

On this day, the winner for the "Best Concert" in the concert category was determined, and it is none other than TWICE!

In particular, rather than popularity voting, the selection for the winner was held along with professionals such as Culture Critic Kang Tae Gyu, Kang Hye Won (researcher at Sungkyunkwan University's Entrepreneurship Innovation Center), Shim Heechul (Professor of Entertainment Management at Dong-A Broadcasting Arts University), Momocon's head Lee Jae Gook, and more.

As a result, Beyond Live's "TWICE: World in a Day," received the highest score, not only for the group's excellent performance but for its workability, originality, and box office success – thus, selected as the best work after fierce selection.

The judges unanimously agreed that "As a team with many hit songs loved by men and women of all ages, (We) felt the fun and value of popular music concerts that (we) enjoyed together, while singing along even though it was an online performance."

In context, during the concert, TWICE who released hit tracks such as "Cheer Up," "TT," "Yes or Yes," and more since their debut in 2015 stole the hearts of countless people with their catchy songs and fun energy.

Moreover, the judges pointed out, "It is also meaningful in that it is a performance that reaffirmed the power of the Korean Wave amid a contraction in the K-pop performance market due to the aftermath of COVID-19."

Meanwhile, TWICE 'World In a Day' is the first-ever concert of the group remotely held on August 9, 2020.

The concept of the online concert features 16 regions around the world under the concept of a "world tour within a day." They added fun and emotion to visualize landmarks at world tour venues such as Seoul, Bangkok, Manila, Singapore, Los Angeles, Mexico City, New York, Chicago, Kuala Lumpur, and Japan with colorful artwork.

The online concert also utilizes new techniques for the modern performing culture, featuring futuristic cars that transcend time and space, and more — implemented with state-of-the-art augmented reality AR technology, and the number of members doubled using the MCC (motion control camera) system to create a unique stage where 18 people perform at the same time.

Aside from TWICE, SEVENTEEN's "IN-COMPLETE" was also nominated, which was well-received for its multi-view screen where you can see SEVENTEEN's performance from various angles.

Nevertheless, TWICE won through their various charms, and the group who will be accepting the award are also expected to perform on October 19 during the 8th E-Daily Culture Awards. Fans can watch the live broadcast through the "EDAILY FRIENDS" YouTube channel.
