'Street Woman Fighter' Dance Crew YGX Reveals the Atmosphere Among Dancers on Set

Recently on November 18, the members of "Street Woman Fighter" dance crew YGX - led by Lee Jung - made a guest appearance on "Showterview with Jessi," and reuniting with the rapper who also became a guest judge on the show for Jessi's "Cold Blooded" choreography mission during Episode 5.

Jessi, who herself has participated in survival shows such as "Unpretty Rapstar" back in 2015, knew that there would be competition and fights among contestants, and asks the members of YGX how it was like on the set of "Street Woman Fighter."

YGX leader Lee Jung explained that it is true that everyone is so serious on stage and that there might be tension among the dancers. However, once the camera turns off, none of the dancers hold any grudges against each other.

Just like any show, a key point in "Street Woman Fighter" is the backstage interviews held individually. Backstage interviews are known to allow the cast members to freely express their thoughts about others, and Lee Jung explains that no one knows what the dancers say during that time and just rely on what is shown on broadcast.

"We can't see what they say during their interview behind the stage. All we can see is how they dance on the stage. So as we watched the show and found out what they said about us, like 'YGX is blah blah.' After watching it on TV and when we went to the set for the shoot, [it was] a lil weird," Lee Jung said.

Hearing this, Jessi wholeheartedly agreed and added that these kind of shows aim to pit the contestants against each other to create entertaining and controversial content for the viewers, despite the contestants themselves being on good terms.

YGX Talks About Receiving Hate Due to Mnet's 'Evil Editing'

YGX also spoke up about Mnet's infamous "evil editing" that put them in a bad light and caused them to receive hate from the public.

YGX member Yeojin reveals that she has been close friends with WAYB's leader NOZE way before the show, and at some point in the show, NOZE had gotten hurt from the harsh words said by the other dancers.

In an attempt to lighten up the mood, Yeojin had playfully said, "NOZE, you okay?" But with Mnet's editing, it didn't come across that way on the broadcast. Lee Jung added that they made her look so mean on the edited version.

This eventually garnered Yeojin a lot of hate from fans. "I've heard all of the bad words that exist in the world," Yeojin playfully said.

Fellow member Yell was also a victim of Mnet's evil editing, which caused her to receive hate for something she didn't do, rather than what she said.

During the first episode, she had a dance battle with Coca N Butter's Zsun. But prior to Yell's turn to dance, one of the other dancers got injured, so they decided to take a break between shootings.

"And before we resumed, the air was heavy because of the injury and the long break. But lucky for me, I'm a fighter by nature. So I put all my effort into dancing, even harder than I normally do. So we rounded off the battle in a good atmosphere and shook our hands. But it wasn't shown on the edited video," Yell said.

Because the edited version didn't show them shaking hands, Yell received criticism for her alleged attitude, with many accusing her of being disrespectful to those older than her.
