BTS Jimin's 'Filter' Stays as No. 1 Solo Male Song on Spotify's 'Top K-pop Track of 2021'

On December 1, Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, released its annual data on what the world listened to during the past year.

In summary, BTS was revealed to be the third most-streamed artist in the whole world, making them the most-streamed K-pop group.

Moreover, Jimin's song "Filter" kept its status as the most popular and well-loved Korean male solo track for two consecutive years.

BTS took half of the top 20 spots on Spotify's "Top K-Pop Tracks of 2021," and it's a delight for ARMYs when Jimin's solo song "Filter" came as 16th on the list.

With this, the song was crowned as the most streamed Korean male solo track and B-side. It also surpassed "ON," title track of "Map of the Soul: 7" album released in 2020.

In 2020, "Filter" ranked 11th on Spotify's list of "Most Streamed Korean Male Solo Tracks." Then, it was No. 1 in Amazon's Best Sellers of 2020 and 2021, and got a nomination from the 10th Gaon Chart Music Awards for "Artist of the Year."

BTS Jimin's "Filter" is a song that rose steadily to the top of the music charts. Upom release, it quickly recorded the biggest debut for a Korean soloist in the history of Spotify for having 2.2 million streams.

BTS Jimin's Global Popularity Rises With 'Filter'

"Filter" still continues with its popularity. On November 28 and 29, it was the highest-charting BTS solo and B-Side track on Korea's Spotify amid BTS' "Permission To Dance on Stage - LA" concert. On the same day, it also gained the highest number of MelOn daily listeners, despite not performing the song live.

The song also re-entered Spotify Vietnamese's Top 200 at 153rd spot and was 10th on Spotify's Viral Hits of Portugal in 2021, then it charted in the top 100 in seven countries on iTunes.

On October 11, "Filter" attained many No. 1s after Japan joined the ranks. It is the first and only BTS solo song and Jimin's first solo to rise to the top spot in the country.

BTS' songs are anticipated to retain their popularity with the upcoming concert tours of the Bangtan Boys, proving their global fame.
