K-pop artists and songs that shone the brightest this year bagged awards at the MelOn Music Awards 2021 (MMA)! On Saturday, the annual awards ceremony gave six major and special awards to artists IU, aespa, Brave Girls, NCT DREAM and more!

MMA 2021 Welcomes with Star-Studded Performers under this Year Slogan, 'NEXT MUSIC UNIVERSE, MMA 2021'

On Dec. 4, artists who dominated the K-pop scene this year gathered at the 2021 MelOn Music Awards, organized by Kakao TV and music-streaming platform, MelOn.

In the broadcast, which started at 6 p.m. KST, MMA 2021 pre-show "MMA? the Record" was led by announcer Park Sun Young and comedian Lee Yong Jin.

As the broadcast went on, music powerhouses IU, Lee Mujin, Heize, Lim Young Woong, MSG Wannabe (M.O.M), TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT), THE BOYZ, ENHYPEN, Brave Girls, and STAYC, and other stars raised the mood with their attendance and exciting performances under this year's slogan, "NEXT MUSIC UNIVERSE MMA 2021".

During the ceremony, IU, aespa, and BTS took home this year's MMA Grand Prize. In particular, IU and BTS bagged the most awards tonight with a total of five awards each, wherein both secured a bonsang as well. aespa then followed with four awards.
