BLACKPINK Lisa, Rosé and More K-pop Soloists Bag Awards at China's Year-End Awards Show in 2021

At the recent year-end awards show in China, several K-pop soloists bagged one or more trophies, such as BLACKPINK members Lisa and Rosé, and more.

BLACKPINK Lisa and Rosé Win at China's Year-End Awards Show in 2021

On Dec. 16, China's year-end awards ceremony for 2021 was held, and among the winners are four well-known K-pop soloists.

One of these solo artists is BLACKPINK Rosé, who earned the "Best Selling International Single" with her solo debut album "R." The record sold a total of 1,724,000 digital copies in China, gaining 10,347,000 yuan.

Remarkably, BLACKPINK Rosé's "R" is the first K-pop single album to record 10 million yuan in China.

In the "Best Selling International Single" category, Rosé went up against her bandmate Lisa (with "LALISA"), Girls' Generation Taeyeon (with "Weekend"), BTS (with "Butter"), and Justin Bieber's "Anyone" and "Hold On."

With her impressive 1.7 million total digital sales, BLACKPINK Rosé also won the "Best Selling K-pop Single" and "Best Sell K-pop Artist (Singles)" at China's year-end awards show. She won three trophies overall.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK Lisa was announced as the "Best Selling Thailand Artist (Singles)" in China this year. Her debut album "LALISA" sold 785,000 digital sales.

As of Sept. 25, only 15 days after the album's release, "LALISA" already sold 633,000 digital copies in the country.

Additionally, girl group BLACKPINK bagged the "Best Selling Live Album" with "The Show (Live)," which sold 30,000 digital copies in China.

IU and EXO Baekhyun Announced as Winners at China's Year-End Awards Show in 2021

At the awards ceremony, IU was also one of the K-pop soloists who scored a few trophies. She took home the "Best Selling K-pop Solo Album" and "Best Selling Female K-pop Album: with her latest work "LILAC."

IU's "LILAC" sold a total of 370,000 digital copies, which make the work the No. 1 best-selling solo album by a K-pop artist in China this year.

On the Chinese app, NetEast Cloud Music, IU's "LILAC" reached more than 200,000 digital sales in just two days after the album was dropped on March 25.

As of June, "LILAC" was leading in terms of the number of digital sales of K-pop albums released this year. It already sold over 345,000 copies at that time.

The fourth Korean solo artist to win this year's China Year-End Award (2021) is EXO Baekhyun. In fact, he is the only male K-pop soloist to win at China's year-end awards ceremony this year.

Baekhyun was able to obtain the "Best Selling Male K-pop Solo Album" with his latest solo album "Bambi." A total of 246,000 digital copies of "Bambi" were sold in the country this year.

As of June, EXO Baekhyun's "Bambi" was the fourth best-selling K-pop album in China with more than 237,000 digital copies sold.

Following its release on March 30, "Bambi" swept the top spots of China's QQ Music's and Kugou Music's Best-Selling Digital Album charts, proving his great popularity in the country.
