Lee Jin Ho, a former reporter who runs a YouTube channel about the entertainment industry, revealed how serious TWICE Jeongyeon's health condition is, including her sudden weight gain.  

On December 22, YouTube reporter Lee Jin Ho uploaded a new video where he reveals the reason for Jeongyeon's weight gain. Read on to know what he said.

TWICE Jeongyeon Suffers from Weight Gain as Side Effect of Taking Steroids for Her Disc Surgery

JYP Entertainment made a statement on December 20 regarding TWICE's Jeongyeon fourth absence from the group's world tour. "Jeongyeon will not attend this world tour concert for health reasons," the agency wrote.

The K-pop insider then recalled the time Jeongyeon suspended her activities in the past year and this 2021.

"Jeongyeon has already suspended her activities twice in October last year and August this year for health reasons. But fans are confused as Jeongyeon, who recently announced that she has recovered and said she is practicing dance five to six hours a day for Christmas concerts, suddenly made a statement through her agency that she could not return," Lee said.

Just then, Lee Jin Ho brought back Jeongyeon's explanation that her weight gain was the side effect of taking steroids.

As a refresher, the "Fancy" singer took a break in June last year, for her herniated disc surgery. One of the common medication for patients like her are steroids, but it incorporates side effects such as Edema (swelling of the body tissues) and changes in appetite.

Although Jeongyeon undoubtedly did her best and seems well during her recent comebacks with TWICE through "The Feels" and "SCIENTIST," the YouTuber claimed otherwise.

"There seems to be no problem when Jeongyeon is on stage or filming. However, her face is pale during breaks. She was also often seen sighing while digesting activities and schedules without difficulty," industry officials who witnessed Jeongyeon returning to the stage after her comeback testified. Lee Jin Ho also expressed concerns about Jeongyeon's mental health.

Meanwhile, TWICE will hold their fourth world tour "III" in Seoul for two days from December 25 to 26. They will continue their world tour in LA from February 15 to 16 next year, Oakland on February 18, Fort Worth on February 22, Atlanta on February 24, and New York on February 26 to 27.
