HYBE Expected to Record the Highest Fourth-Quarter Sales and Profit of 2021 Thanks to BTS and SEVENTEEN

HYBE is projected to have a record-breaking quarterly performance, particularly in the fourth quarter of 2021, thanks to BTS and SEVENTEEN as the main contributors.

ON Jan. 6, NH Investment & Securities revealed their estimation of HYBE's sales and profit in the fourth quarter of 2021, which would be the company's record-breaking quarterly performance.

They said that HYBE's sales in last year's fourth quarter are expected to be 402.4 billion won, marking a 29% increase from the same period of 2020. As for their operating profit in the same quarter, it reached 76.1 billion won, showing a 37% compared to the same period of 2020.

It was analyzed that the performances of BTS and SEVENTEEN last year had significant contributions to HYBE's sales and profit in the fourth quarter of 2021.

On Nov. 27 and 28 and Dec. 1 and 2, BTS held a concert at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles called "BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE." It is predicted that HYBE earned 36 billion won in ticket sales for offline performances during the four-night event (which attracted 210,000 fans) and 20 billion won for the online format of the concert that took place in October.

Also, in October, SEVENTEEN's "Attacca" sold more than 1.33 million copies in just the first week of release (Oct. 22 to 28). Notably, the album surpassed one million sales in only five days, becoming the group's second work in 2021 to achieve the feat after their previous mini-album "Your Choice."

SEVENTEEN Your Choice

On Dec. 9, it was announced that SEVENTEEN's "Attacca" has surpassed two million copies sold on the Gaon Chart. It is the boy group's first album to be a double million-seller. "Attacca" recorded a 45% increase compared to "Your Choice," which has 1.4 million cumulative sales so far.

Aside from BTS and SEVENTEEN, the rookie boy group ENHYPEN also had a notable achievement in 2021, which also contributed to HYBE's sales and profit in the fourth quarter. The septet has sold over one million copies on Gaon as of November with their first studio album "DIMENSION: DILEMMA."

On Dec. 31, HYBE has entered a "New Era" with their year-end concert "2022 Weverse Con," which was held online and offline at the Korea International Exhibition Center in Ilsan for 230 minutes. The event featured its roster of artists including Justin Bieber, BUMZU, DVWN, TXT, ENHYPEN, Lee Hyun, SEVENTEEN, and fromis_9.

The "2022 Weverse Con" was watched across 117 countries via VenewLive. It opened with a splendid performance of "Drunk-Dazed" by ENHYPEN. Next, TOMORROW X TOGETHER performed their hits "0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)", "Anti-Romantic," and "Frost," as well as a mashup of "Magic," "No Rules" and "LO$ER=LOVER."

Then, male soloists BUMZU and Lee Hyun took the stage before SEVENTEEN gave a stellar performance of "Clap," "Rock with you," and their other mega hits. Meanwhile, fromis_9 sang "We Go" and "Feel Good." As for Justin Bieber's number, he sang "Peaches," "Anyone," "Hold On" and his other notable songs.

As midnight draws near, the artists took the stage together to perform as they countdown for New Year.
