#TAEYEONCOMEBACK: Girls' Generation Taeyeon to Return with Her 3rd Full Album + to Drop a Pre-Release Single ahead
On Jan. 11, SM Entertainment announced through media outlets that Girls' Generation member Taeyeon is gearing up for her comeback in February with the release of her third studio album.
It will be the first time in two years and four months that the female idol will release a full-length album since her second full album "Purpose" arrived in October 2019.

But, ahead of the release of Taeyeon's third full album, the main vocalist will drop a pre-release single titled "Can't Control Myself" this coming Jan. 17. It is said that this track will captivate listeners with a new side to the Girls' Generation member as a musician.
Following the news about Taeyeon's comeback in February was released, many fans are excited about her return. On Twitter, the fans are using the hashtag "#TAEYEONCOMEBACK" to show their excitement and also to spread the good news.

Over the years, Girls' Generation Taeyeon has showcased her majestic vocals through various genres of songs and her solo and group activities. She has established herself as one of the top soloists in the K-pop industry with her smash hits "Fine," "Why," and "I" (feat. Verbal Jint) among others.
Apart from the songs, Taeyeon also solidified her position in the K-pop scene by recording notable album sales for a female soloist with every album she releases.

Girls' Generation Taeyeon's Latest Comeback with Her New Single "Weekend"
In July of last year, Girls' Generation member Taeyeon made her first solo comeback in almost eight months since her fourth mini-album "What Do I Call You" was dropped in December 2020.
Her return came with the release of her new single titled "Weekend." The song falls under the disco-pop genre and features bright guitar and retro synth sounds. The track is about wishing to escape one's boring daily life and enjoy a carefree weekend.
Girls' Generation Taeyeon's "Weekend" ranked No. 1 on different music streaming sites in South Korea, such as Genie, Bugs and VIBE on the day of its release.

"Weekend" also climbed to the top of iTunes Songs charts in 14 different countries including Saudi Arabia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Peru, Chile, Luxembourg, Thailand and more. The single even ranked first on QQ Music's Digital Album Sales chart in China.
Other than that, Taeyeon's "Weekend" scored No. 4 on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart, marking her highest peak on the tally.
Meanwhile, Taeyeon's "Weekend" MV earned over 2.9 million views and 424,000 likes on YouTube in the first 24 hours of its release. After 14 days and 15 hours, the music video successfully hit 10 million views. It went on to reach 20 million views on Sept. 16.
