"I ask all my friends who move from girl groups to solo to watch Taeyeon. You don't know how smart Taeyeon is that I'd pick her as the 'smart person' in a girl group. There are not many people who are as smart, sing well, and are good at entertainment as much as her," Kim Shin Young commended the Girls' Generation leader's all-rounder talent.

Jungmo, who debuted and was promoted under SM Entertainment prior to his departure in the agency in 2019, also said, "Taeyeon has more musical talent than you know. Taeyeon still has a lot of things that have not been disclosed. She has a lot of talent."

Shin Young then mentioned IU as the "textbook" of a solo singer, who appeared in the conversation after they talked about Rainbow's "A" and former Spica's Kim BoA. Although she was briefly mentioned, the comedienne-singer along with Jungmo implied that she's the "role model" or "standard" to solo artists who are about to debut.

Kim Shin Young added, "... and the textbook of a girl group is Taeyeon."

Jungmo attested to it and praised her even more, saying, "Taeyeon is a promising talent since she first joined SM. I couldn't believe this friend was a trainee after hearing her vocal tone. It stood out unrivaled. I remember saying that it's (kind of) a pity for her to sing a group."

On the other hand, the aforementioned "standard" for a girl group Taeyeon will release a new song, "Can't Control Myself," on January 17.

Currently, this song is a track from Taeyeon's third full-length album to be released in February. The song, "Can't Control Myself," is a pop-punk genre ballad with strong sound, expressing love for the other person's heart, intuitively feeling that he will be hurt and sick.

It will depict the story of a "Dangerous Love" and losing control, in which Taeyeon participated in the lyrics herself. The agency hinted at what to expect saying, "The music video will completely capture the audience's attention as it contains a movie-like cinematic beauty that combines dramatic stories and dynamic directing."

SM Entertainment then announced on January 14 that they will release Taeyeon's "Can't Control Myself" MV on the screen in a 30-second version at 87 megabox branches nationwide for about a month from January 18.
