On January 17, idol and actress Yuri sat down for an interview with the Korean media outlet, Star News. During the talk, the "Bossam: Steal the Fate" star opened up on her winning the "Best Acting Award," at the 2021 Asia Artist Awards, and mentioned Girls' Generation.
"It was very strange. Originally, it was an award ceremony that I often go to with my team members, but this time I went alone. I was very nervous and my heart was pounding. Haha," Yuri said.
Girls' Generation, which reigned at the top of the K-pop industry with several hit songs such as "Into the New World," "Gee," "Genie," and "The Boys," has been on a hiatus since 2017 as a whole group.
During their contract expiration on the same year, five members' renewed with SM Entertainment, but Seohyun, Sooyoung and Tiffany left the agency yet attested that they are still part of the group.

Since then, Oh!GG, a sub-unit comprised of the remaining members under SM Taeyeon, Sunny, Hyoyeon, Yuri and Yoona debuted in 2018.
When asked, "When will the eight Girls' Generation members' reunite?"
"As the agency has changed, there are practical difficulties in coordinating the schedule, but it is hopeful that the members are still active in various fields without much fuss," the "I Got a Boy" singer replied.
However, Yuri attested that they are currently and continuously preparing for their huge comeback, although the date is yet to be determined.
"I think we will be mature enough when we get back together as Girls' Generation. We also have high expectations because we have worked in various fields through each battle. So we are trying to make the comeback more concrete. It takes some time because it is difficult to coordinate the schedule, but if each person has a good idea, they share it in the group chat room."

Meanwhile, the Girls' Generation marks their 15th anniversary this year. In 2021, the whole group celebrated their anniversary through tvN's entertainment program "You Quiz on the Block" as a gift to SONEs.
When asked, "What surprise gifts will be waiting for fans on the 15th anniversary?"
Kwon Yuri avowed that she's also looking forward to the day when she will shine again as the "Black Pearl of Girls' Generation."
"I personally think I'll stand in front of my fans in any form and say 'hello.' Wouldn't it be like that? It's a meaningful monumental time for both Girls' Generation and SONE (Girls' Generation fandom), so I think we'll have a meeting to greet them in some form."
