On January 25, fromis_9 scored their first win for their latest comeback, "DM," on MTV's "THE SHOW." During their speech, the members thanked their fans, Flover, for giving them good news for the new year. They also used sketchbooks to send thank-you messages to their fans during the encores stage.
The members were seen having fun during their encore stage. Some members, such as Chaeyoung, were seen crying over the moment. The girls did not perform the choreography for the song, instead standing in line on stage. The members also cheered and celebrated their win on stage.

After their encore stage was aired and shared online, fromis_9 received scrutiny from internet users for their live, raw vocals. People wondered why they could not reach their high notes despite just standing. Some even asked who the main vocal is in the group and why they cannot sing.
Some people took it further, saying that fromis_9's encore stage is the worse one they have ever seen, while others stated that they were nothing "but pretty faces."
