Jay Park Confirmed as MC of THIS Reality Competition Show

Jay Park, a musician, and producer, will be coming back soon as the emcee of an upcoming breakdance competition program, "Showdown."

On February 4, JTBC announced that it will be launching its very own dance survival reality program, "Showdown" in March. Aside from that, some of South Korea's biggest break-dancers and dance crews will be competing in intense showdowns to prove once again that South Korea is a powerhouse of dance.

As a former break-dancer, Jay Park is confirmed to be the host of JTBC's "Showdown" along with his friendly energy. Aside from that, he will also give the viewers with helpful commentary during the dance including the breakdancing's background and the rules.

Meanwhile, a total of eight breakdancing crews are set to compete on JTBC's "Showdown," the lineup consists of some biggest names in the dance crew industry.

Some of the groups are home to the members of South Korea's national dance representatives who are currently on track to the "2022 Asian Games."

Jay Park to Launch New Male Idol Group

Jay Park currently working to establish a new label where he can launch different K-pop idol groups.

He recently stepped down as the CEO of his previous labels, AOMG and H1GHR Music.

Aside from that, reports say that Kakao Entertainment could be the large investor in Jay Park's new label.

To confirm the news, Kakao Entertainment responded to such reports saying that it "is working with various partners in the music industry for its music content business" and that it is "in talks about forming a collaboration with Jay Park, but nothing concrete has been decided yet."

Jay Park debuted as a member of 2PM in 2008. But he left the group and went back to his hometown in Seattle after being entangled in controversy for the comments he wrote about Korea in 2005.

In 2010, Park returned to Korea and signed a contract with SidusHQ and he made his debut as a rapper. Then, he founded his independent hip-hop labels AOMG in 2013 and H1GHR Music in 2017.

Jay Park Steps Down as CEO of AOMG and H1GHR Labels

Last December, Jay Park revealed in his social media accounts that he is stepping down from the CEO position of AOMG and H1GHR Music.

"After a lot of thought and taking time to organize the emotions I've decided to step down as the CEO of AOMG and H1GHR Music," Park wrote in English.

"I know this may be shocking to a lot of people but I will remain as an advisor for both labels and we will continue to be a family and I hope you guys will continue to support AOMG, H1GHR Music, and all the things we do for many years to come."

Park founded AOMG in 2013 where rappers like Simon Dominic, Gray, and Loco came from. Meanwhile, he founded H1GHR Music, home to Sik-K, pH-1, and Woodie Gochild, in 2017.
