Jay Park Announces Retirement as CEO of AOMG and H1GHR Music
Back on December 31, former 2PM member-turned-solo artist, Jay Park, surprised fans when he announced through his social media that he will be stepping down as the CEO of both AOMG and H1GHR Music, the two music labels he founded back in 2013 and 2017, respectively.
However, Jay Park will not completely retire from the two labels, and revealed that he will act as an advisor for AOMG and H1GHR Music instead.
This also means that Cha Cha Malone, who co-founded H1GHR Music with the rapper, will now be the sole CEO of the label.
Along with his announcement, Jay Park expressed his sincere gratitude towards fans, AOMG and H1GHR Music artists, and his staff for the love they gave him through the years.
According to Jay Park, the decision for him to step down as the two labels' CEO took a lot of thinking and emotions, and revealed that 2021 had been a difficult year for him.
A day after his announcement on January 1, Jay Park deactivated his personal Instagram account, causing worry among fans and spurring the rumor that the rapper would be retiring from the entertainment industry altogether.

This also came after Jay Park had shared a cryptic message on his social media back on December 30, saying, "If ever I retire or disappear, make sure that you will miss me."

As Jay Park fans have become increasingly worried with the artist's possible retirement, the "Me Like Yuh" rapper finally took to his Twitter account to address the rumors regarding his resignation.
On January 25, Jay Park held a "#askjaypark" session, where fans can ask the rapper any question they like.
A few hours later, he shared a tweet which regarding his retirement, with a fan saying that others are hesitant with his retirement as they are "unsure what it means for fans." The fan also asked what it would look like for fans if he did retire.
To this, Jay Park assured fans that he is not yet retiring and plans to release at least one or two albums more before doing so.
