EXO Suho Shares Heartfelt Letter to EXO-Ls and Reveals a Special Gift is in the Making

Back on May 14, 2020, EXO's leader Suho enlisted for his mandatory military service, where he served as a public service officer. And on February 13, 2021, Suho was discharged after completing 21 months of service, making him the third member of the group to finish their military service.

To celebrate his return and the completion of his service, Suho took to his personal Instagram account on February 14 KST to post a heartfelt and handwritten letter to his fans, EXO-L.

In his letter, Suho expresses how much he had missed EXO fans during his time in the military. In addition, he also revealed that he is currently preparing a special gift for fans as a way to thank them for waiting for him.

Suho's handwritten letter reads:

"To EXO-L,

Hello, everyone. This is EXO's leader Suho, Kim Junmyeon. Finally, as of today, February 14, 2022, I have been discharged! First of all, I just want to say before anything else is that I missed EXO-L the most. Although I spent some time away from you all during my military service, thanks to you, it was a meaningful time that allowed me to think more about EXO-L. During the period of one year and nine months, I wanted to see all of you and the EXO members so much that I even held a concert in my dreams... hehe. I guess I must have wanted to jump forward in time and meet you on stage as soon as possible. But like I once said, 'If even the waiting in and of itself is joyful, then it is love,' and I also think that maybe because there were times like this, that the waiting may have made our feelings grow deeper. But still, from now on, let's not be apart ever again! If I can hold you, I would hold you tight and not let you go. From this moment on, I am preparing a gift for our EXO-L. I hope that it will be a gift that makes the waiting for me feel worthwhile. As we haven't been able to see each other in a long time, let's promise to see each other more often from now one!!!

EXO Suho's Releases Prior to Enlistment

In other news, prior to enlisting for his mandatory military enlistment, Suho had made his debut as a solo artist with his debut mini-album "Self-Portrait" in March 2020, which features a total of six tracks, including his lead single "Let's Love."

His debut marked him as the fourth EXO member to make their debut as a solo artist, following after Lay, Chen, and Baekhyun.

Following his debut. "Self-Portrait" peaked at No. 1 on Gaon's Album chart, and sold more than 290,000 album copies. He also became the first EXO member to win in all three major music shows in Korea.
