ONEUS Takes Us To The Moon and Back During 2022 'BLOOD MOON' Tour in NYC

It was an unusually warm day for February in New York City, but it played into the favor of the hundreds of To Moons that made their way to Webster Hall. February 12, 2022 marked the first stop of the ONEUS 2022 ‘BLOOD MOON’ Tour, the first of 14 locations across the United States. The anticipation and excitement of the fans was unmatched, especially after a few years deprived of concerts and live events.

Thankfully, MyMusicTaste is back in action, this time with RBW Entertainment bringing six-member K-Pop group ONEUS to the live stage here in New York City.

It’s difficult to know what to expect when you attend the first stop of a tour. However, with ONEUS back in the U.S.A. after almost three years, we had no doubts that they would give us a top-tier performance. What we could have never guessed, however, was that their ‘BLOOD MOON’ tour wasn’t just a show: it was a journey.

The venue glowed red as a blood moon appeared on the LED stage backdrop, taking To Moons on the first stop of the journey. In the moment that ONEUS took their first steps onto the stage, it felt as if gravity was no longer a defining force. Voices and spirits rose higher than ever before, because ONEUS had finally reunited with their international To Moons.

The members started the night strong with “Come Back Home” and the rock version of “Valkyrie,” immediately jumping into “Black Mirror” and the English version of “Shut Up 받고 Crazy Hot!” after their group’s introduction. There was no doubt that ONEUS gave off energy hotter than a blood moon itself!

In perfect moon-related fashion, ONEUS performed “Twilight” right before they brought us to the next stop of the show. Following an enjoyable VCR of the members participating in their own talent show, ONEUS returned to the stage, changing from form-fitting, diamond embellished suits into brightly color-blocked, casual outfits. The LED screen displayed aerial views of different landscapes on earth, bringing To Moons back down from the atmosphere of the last scene’s blood moon. A medley featuring feel-good songs “Plastic Flower,” “English Girl,” and “Airplane” turned the concert into one big dance party.

Slowing down, ONEUS turned their fanservice levels up with performances of “A Song Written Easily” and “Youth.” Seeing the members interacting with To Moons closeby felt reminiscent of shining stars falling to earth, blanketing the audience with comfort and warmth.

Main vocalist Keonhee then mentioned that their next stage was “the hardest stage ever” before the group jumped into a dance cover performance. And when we say it was hot, we mean hot. The stage lights basked the venue in red, adding to the sexiness of the dance break. Once the performance ended and the members were catching their breaths after their high-energy body rolls, Keonhee asked To Moons if he was sexy. To no one's surprise, the audience roared in affirmation.

ONEUS ended this portion of the concert with rearranged versions of fan favorites “To Be or Not To Be” and “No Diggity.” As they stepped off the stage, a VCR gave the audience a sneak peek into the process behind preparing for the “BLOOD MOON’ Tour. Hours of practice, strategic planning, and the full efforts of the members and staff all contributed to this successful show, and To Moons couldn’t be more thankful.

As the VCR ended, ONEUS appeared back on stage donned in hanboks, the traditional clothing of Korea. The next stop of this journey is ONEUS’s home country itself! Their purple hanboks, embellished with silver trim, floated above the stage as the group performed “Intro: Window,” featuring the vocals of Korean musician Choi Ye Lim, and “Luna.”

ONEUS took To Moons on a journey through Korea with their attire, music choice, and LED visuals displaying facades of historical Korean architecture. To bring it full circle, ONEUS then jumped into the revered title track “Lit,” which prominently features a Gayageum, a traditional Korean instrument, in the instrumental. Even though the concert was in New York City, To Moons were fully immersed in Korean culture through this performance.

During this journey, ONEUS took To Moons from the blood moon, down to earth, and to their beautiful country of Korea. But alas, all journeys must come to an end. The final stop was not a defined location — it was a moment for To Moons to be with ONEUS; to enjoy their time together before the show came to a close. They performed the english version of “Life is Beautiful,” followed by the sentimental “I.P.U.” Ending the show on a high note, the bright lights of a disco ball illuminated the venue for “BBUSEYO,” uniting everyone together underneath the lights.

The night proved that no matter where we are, no matter what we are doing, no matter how much time has passed, To Moons and ONEUS will stay together forever.

ONEUS 2022 ‘BLOOD MOON’ Tour is far from over! Keep up with ONEUS and their tour journey by following them on Twitter.
