Among idols and celebrities, TWICE Mina, GOT7 Youngjae and more proved their beautiful hearts as they decided to sign up as organ donors to share the beauty of life.

In the entertainment industry, many have shown good influence in various ways, such as monetary donations and volunteer work. 

However, some idols didn't stop there and even decided to donate organs. Celebrities' decisions not only eased the pain of those who had been sick for a long time but also improved their perception of organ donation, drawing many people's participation.

5 Artists Registered as Organ Donors:

1. GOT7 Youngjae

In 2020, Youngjae joined an organ donation pledge, officially registering himself on August 21 that year. The GOT7 main vocalist turned soloist then expressed his happiness and reason for deciding to become an organ donor.

He said, "Organ donation can be a blessing and happiness for one person and can give hope."

He added, "When I make an organ donation pledge, the 'seed of hope' mark (mark to know if someone is an organ donor) at the bottom of the driver's license looked cool, and I am grateful that I feel like I also become a cool person by making a donation pledge."

2. TWICE Mina

Aside from being a loving TWICE member, Mina proved that she's a real-life angel after she revealed that she also became an organ donor in Korea in 2017.

At that time, the "Fancy" singer drew attention by releasing a photo taken with an organ donation certificate through TWICE's official SNS. She revealed that it was her gift to ONCEs (TWICE fandom) in commemoration of her 800th day as TWICE member.

She said, "Today is TWICE’s 800th day since its debut! Congratulations! Due to this, I registered as an organ donor in Korea to wrap up this year! ONCEs, who always support us and give us strength, thank you!"

This is not the first time though that the kind-hearted idol signed for organ donation. In Japan, she registered herself in 2013.

3. (G)I-DLE soyeon

Soyeon, the leader of the group (G)I-DLE, became a role model after she applied for organ donation in 2021. She also tattooed her arm so that medics can easier identify her as an organ donor.

Her explanation truly makes her an angel in disguise, saying, "I read that an average of 5 people needing an organ died because they weren't able to receive one. I wondered how many things I could do for others. I thought about whether I could die after doing one. I don't have much to help others and I don't have much to ask for help from others. I want to be a good person."

4. Swings

Singer-rapper Swings also said on SNS that he has decided to donate organs in 2021. He posted, "If I go early, please write well if you really need. I just want to do even a little good thing."

However, his organ donation registration is not a "little thing" as, after his postings, the Korean Organ Donor Program recorded over 1,000 people organ donors who signed for the pledge due to Swings' influence.

5. Jang Sung Kyu

Last but not least, broadcaster-entertainer Jang Sung Kyu also participated in the registration of post-corneal donation, brain death organ donation, and human tissue donation in 2020.

In this regard, he said on SNS, "My dream is to become a person who saves people. However, as I live in reality, I often try to live well alone. Still, I really want to achieve my dream at the end of my life. I'll give you everything I have at the end. I'm sorry I couldn't give you when I was alive."
