Kang Mina Reveals Who Among Gugudan & I.O.I Members Still Communicate With Her

On February 25, various Korean media outlets released the second part of the press interview with Kang Mina, who successfully wrapped up KBS2's "Moonshine."
During the talk, the idol-turned actress actively answered questions related to changes in her career, as well as I.O.I and Gugudan.
In the interview, the reporters asked, "Do you still interact a lot with your colleagues, Kim Sejeong, I.O.I, and Gugudan members?"
"There are times when I often meet with (former I.O.I) DIA Jung Chaeyeon and Lim Nayoung to consult about our concerns and also talk about our works," Mina responded.
Among her former I.O.I and Gugudan co-members, Kang Mina boasted her still-strong relationship with Kim Sejeong, who debuted with her twice together as idols prior to their transition into acting.
"Sejeong and I often meet and talk about acting, eating, and beauty devices. Among all of them, I often talk with her about acting advice and ideas the most. Recently, I felt that unnie was really cool watching her perform in a musical, but I decided to do my best now, too," Mina said.
Kang Mina initially rose into stardom as an idol who belonged to the national girl group I.O.I in 2016. She debuted after finishing in ninth place in Mnet's girl group survival show, "Produce 101."
In the same year, she debuted as Gugudan, and in 2018, the female idol debuted in a sub-unit Gugudan - SeMiNa, along Sejeong, Nayoung.

After two years of hiatus, Gugudan parted ways in 2020 and Mina decided to focus on her skyrocketing acting career.
When asked if the members are planning to reunite, which is the case for several groups such as Wanna One, Kang Mina didn't particularly have a solid reply whether it is possible or not; however, she highlighted that she's currently focused on her acting career as well as her other group co-members.
She also implied that even a solo singing career is impossible for now.
Kang Mina Shares What Changes After She Transitioned From Idol To Actress
As the interview went on, the reporters continue to dish on her transition from the music industry to the acting scene.
"Unlike when you were a singer, you seem to have diversified on your fan base (now). How is it?"
Mina replied, "It's true. When it comes to weekend dramas, many people in the age (MZ Generation) group recognize it. As I continue to work as an actress, many foreign fans watched it. When I was a singer, there were many older sisters and older brother and even uncle fans, but now a wide variety of people like (me)."
Nevertheless, Kang Mina attested that although she's focused on her acting now, singing is still her "first love."
"That's right. I still like dancing and music. If I have a chance for my fans, I want to do music. However, there is still a lot to show as an actress, so I pledge myself that I should focus more on acting," asking fans for wholehearted support for her journey as an actress.
