fromis_9 Reigns as Top Girl Group in February

On March 8, the main characters of Ten Asia's "ARTIST TOP TEN" for the K-pop girl brand category are determined. The media outlet held the competition from February 18 to 28 in partnership with Idol Champ. The voting was divided into three categories: K-pop Boy Brand, K-pop Girl Brand, and Hot Genre Brand.

But amid the fierce battle among girl groups, fromis_9 won the battle and sit atop "ARTIST TOP TEN" rankings for the female category.

In particular, the group drew a hot response from K-pop fans following the release of their fourth mini-album, "MIDNIGHT GUEST," on January 17, 2022.

With this album, they achieved success, boasting a rise at the top of various global charts with their own record of 104,438 copies sold in the first week of the album release.

In addition, their lead single "DM" and track "Escape Room" captured fans' attention as well, showing fromis_9's wide musical spectrum.

Following fromis_9, BLACKPINK solidifies their status as one of the most popular girl groups by ranking second. With their most anticipated comeback in 2022, BLINKs' support is expected to pour out once the date of their return is confirmed.

Currently, Jennie and Jisoo are drawing attention for their appearance at the Paris Fashion Week, showcasing their position as fashion icons.

Versatile and "all-rounder" girl group MAMAMOO then completed the top 3. From being an underrated group, the quartet climbed as a top-tier girl group, earning praises from K-pop fans.

According to WAVVE, their success story will finally be revealed through an upcoming documentary show, "If I Do It, It's HIP."

Meanwhile, along with them, IU, aespa, Girls' Generation also entered the rankings, proving their strong influence and impact in the music industry.

Rising girl groups including Kep1er, IVE, Secret Number and Dreamcatcher then completed the top 10.

The nominees were selected based on the top 30 male and female idol groups, solos in the monthly chart of MelOn and Idol Champ.

As for the winners, the top 10 were determined by adding 60% of the media index based on Idol Champ, MelOn to 40% of the global popularity index voted by fans.
