BLACKPINK Jennie just reached another milestone with her song, "SOLO."

BLACKPINK Jennie's 'SOLO' Breaks Records 

On Thursday, March 17, YG Entertainment announced that the music video for "SOLO" already reached 800 million views on YouTube.

The track debuted in November 2018, which means that BLACKPINK Jennie managed to break her new record in less than four years.

Every now and then, Jennie's agency gave BLINKs an update on the success of her solo track.

After 23 days since its release, "SOLO" already garnered 100 million views. The music video reached 200 million views three months post-release.

Then, after a year and eight months, "SOLO" already had 700 million views.

BLACKPINK Jennie Talks About 'SOLO' 

In December 2018, BLACKPINK Jennie shared her excitement over being the first member of the K-pop group to release a solo single.

While speaking with Billboard, the K-pop idol admitted there was a bit of pressure on her part because she was also representing BLACKPINK and not just herself.

Jennie also explained the lyrics of "SOLO" and said it's all about being confident and true to oneself. The K-pop idol added she hopes BLINKs will embrace the message of the song and enjoy it as much as she did.

Since Jennie's song is titled "Solo," it wasn't surprising she was asked what she normally does during her downtime.

She said she usually just stays at home, relaxes, and hangs out with her family. She also eats something nice and if strawberries are in season, this would be her go-to fruit.

BLACKPINK Jennie Dishes on Releasing Her First Solo Track 

During her press conference for "Solo" in November 2018, BLACKPINK Jennie revealed all four members of the group were busy preparing their solo tracks. It just so happened she was the first one to release her song.

So, even if they were doing individual tracks, Jennie said it still felt as if they were doing something as a group.

Still, being the first one to release her solo single has been daunting for Jennie. So, she made sure to remind herself to just have fun and to enjoy the moment.

At the time, she also shared the pieces of advice that she received from Yang Hyun Suk.

She said Yang Hyun Suk reminded her to do well during her performance. And he also served as her reminder to go all-out because Jennie could be very shy at times.

Jennie also revealed how Yang Hyun Suk would message her every day to help boost her confidence. And there are times when the music executive would even check her costumes and tell her what works and what doesn't.

Overall, releasing "SOLO" has been a wonderful experience for BLACKPINK Jennie. And BLINKs can't wait to hear more individual tracks from her.
