Universal Music Group Spark Speculation of BLACKPINK's Spring Comeback in Latest Post

It's been over 500 days since BLACKPINK made their comeback, with their last comeback as a whole group having been their first studio album "THE ALBUM," back in October 2020.

With each passing day, BLINKs have become increasingly restless with the lack of activities and promotions of the group, despite members Rosé and Lisa making their solo debuts in 2021, and Jisoo her acting debut in "Snowdrop."

But beginning 2022, BLACKPINK has been riddled with numerous speculations regarding their long-awaited comeback, with nothing being confirmed or denied. However, member Jennie herself had revealed during an appearance on the variety show "The Game Caterers" that BLACKPINK is set to make a comeback soon, and that fans can look forward to it.

"BLACKPINK is also making a comeback soon. I don't know if I am allowed to say this, but as I am the only [BLACKPINK] member here, I will just say it. Please look forward to it. Thank you very much," Jennie said on the show.

Since then, fans have been keeping a close eye on YG Entertainment and each of the members' movements, searching for a potential hint to their comeback.

But now, BLINKs are speculating that the four-piece group will be making a comeback sometime in spring, after Universal Music Group (UMG), which promotes BLACKPINK in North America and Europe, shared a cryptic post on social media.

This seemingly innocent post by UMG eventually sparked speculation that the group would be returning during the spring season. Some fans have even expressed their excitement over the possibility.

Some comments read, "COMEBACK IN SPRING SEASON!!???," "BLACKPINK spring comeback," "Jisoo said we'll see each other before it gets too hot (summer) so THAT MEANS WE WILL SEE THEM IN SPRING? OMG," "OMG OMG OMG," and similar others.

However, some are also uncertain that BLACKPINK is making a spring comeback, as their seniors and labelmate BIGBANG would be making a comeback on April 5, which is in spring.

This eventually led fans to believe that BLACKPINK won't be making a comeback soon to avoid clashing with YG Entertainment artists' comebacks. Some, however, think that the group could potentially make a comeback in May or June.
