1. 'The Truth Untold' - BTS

"The Truth Untold" is a song sung by BTS's vocal line, Jungkook, Jimin, Jin and V, featuring Steve Aoki. The song was released in May 2018 and was part of the "Love Yourself: Tear" album.

The song is rumored to be based on the story "La Citta di Smeraldo." The story talks about a deformed man who falls in low with a girl who stole flowers from his garden. Though initially enraged over the stealing, the man discovered she was poor and sold the flowers to survive. Out of love, he develops a rare, non-existent flower and waits for her to steal the plant.

However, the girl never arrives. He went looking for her and soon discovered she had passed away.

2. 'DOWNPOUR' - I.O.I

I.O.I released the song "DOWNPOUR" in January 2017 as their final song. It is their final release before their disbandment.

The song fully expresses I.O.I's sadness over their disbandment. In addition, it showcases the 11 members' feelings about leaving their fans after less than a year of promoting as a group. The members selected the song to be their last song. They hoped that they can listen to it and think that they will be reunited in the future.

3. 'Rain' - 'Taeyeon'

"Rain" was released in February 2016 as a digital single. The song was well-loved in South Korea, debuting at the top of the Gaon Digital Chart. In addition, the song received the "Digital Bonsang" at the 31st Golden Disk Awards.

The slow, midtempo song makes use of jazz and R&B sounds. In "Rain," Taeyeon uses the rain as a metaphor to describe memories of a past love. Though the start of the song shows Taeyeon grieving her lost love and the memories that haunt her, the end shows Taeyeon slowly getting over her sorrow,

4. 'Baby, Don't Cry' - EXO

EXO released "Baby, Don't Cry" in June 2013. It was a b-sidetrack for their album, "XOXO." The lead single for this album was "Growl."

The song is speculated to be based on the classic fairytale "The Little Mermaid." The original story is shown from the mermaid's point of view. Readers discover how she fell in love with the Prince. To be with the beloved, she gave up her voice to become a human. However, she soon discovered that Prince Eric had already fallen in love with another girl.

To stay alive, she must kill the Prince. If she does not, she will turn into sea foam and die. She ultimately chooses the latter and returns to the sea.

"Baby, Don't Cry" is believed to be Prince Eric's point of view, where he sacrifices his heart and his happiness for the mermaid.
