Charity Posts Heartwarming Anecdote With ITZY Ryujin After Idol Donates 50M Won
The Promise, a non-profit organization revealed an anecdote with ITZY Ryujin who donated 50 million won (about 41k USD).

ITZY Ryujin delivered a donation of 50M Korean won to The Promise to aid relief efforts in Gangwon-do where a forest fire recently occurred. The charity posted their side on Instagram afterwards.
"I complained to our activists a while ago. Celebrities donate a lot to support the forest fire, so why don't we have any contact with them? I was just saying I had to work hard with it.”
In particular, among celebrities who initially chose their respective NGOs, ITZY Ryujin is the first idol who contacted them first.

They continued:
"But JYP Entertainment contacted us first and said that Ryujin of the idol group ITZY wanted to donate to us. It really added to the meaning of support to small groups (NGO) running in the field."
Not only did Ryujin reach out to them first, but a representative of The Promise also narrated that the "LOCO" singer actually increased the amount they initially discussed for the donation.
"At first, we received an intention to donate 30 million won, but within a few days, Ryujin raised the amount herself and it became 50 million won. Usually, we would receive a donation only if we had a business plan, but Ryujin sent the donation first."
They highlighted that the female star was not demanding when it comes to the procedure, but actually sent the money first.
“Usually, in order to receive large donations, the time is often delayed due to the procedures, administration, and performances that accompany this, so it doesn’t match the on-site timing. However, Ryujin and JYP did send the money first and the announcement later. We did it according to the on-site schedule. It can be said that it is a donation that enables the field team to do their best work."
The Promise then sincerely expressed their grateful heart to Ryujin and JYP Entertainment. They also granted the charity's long-awaited wish which is having a celebrity donation.
ITZY Ryujin Donates 50 Million Won for Gangwon Forest Fires Victims
In particular, the donation was first revealed on April 12, The Promise announced that Ryujin decided to donate monetarily to aid those who are suffering due to the forest fires.
At that time, the "WANNABE" singer said:
"I sincerely hope that this (donation) will become a source of hope and strength even a little bit for the victims of the affected area so that they can restore their precious daily lives."
The Promise attested that Ryujin's donation will be used for various community support programs that increase the resilience of the community. They are prioritizing horticultural treatment activities to help the victims of forest fires in Gangwon-do to adapt to a new temporary housing environment and a gardening project to create a green environment.
